There are varying degrees of fundamentalism both in and outside of Christianity. People can become fundamentilists about any ideology. And ignorance is not confined to people of faith. I think if anyone is honest they would admit as I do there is much about the world in which we are still ignorant.

no I don't for the main part....I am a fundamental Christian and my work is outside the church and my ministry is out side the church.....but I must say in all denominations that I have been to there are a small amount who think it all happens in the church walls.....and that is sad because the church doesn't need saved...at least not the majority of them but the world needs Jesus

We're all ignorant of the world outside our little circle to some extent.

Religious people hold a double standard. They apply special rules and exceptions to thier religious stories/theories that they wouldn't dream of applying to real life.

They wouldn't support a doctor who intially refused to treat a woman's child and insulted her outright because of her ethnic background, but they believe Jesus was just and sinless in doing the very same thing.

A lot of the values they hold that they claim the Bible teaches/supports are values they learned from society, not biblical teachings.

Depends how fundamental or extreme they choose to be and how strictly they ahdere to the Christian faith. Some take the Bible literally, which closes them off to the "world outside", while others have a more liberal attitude, allowing them to accept the "world outside".

Why do you assume that Christians are ignorant since most came out of the world you speak of? Most are quite educated.

Father, in the Name of Jesus help this person find you, it is a cry for help. Show him the love and mercy you have given us. Help them know not just this world, but the wisdom found in your Word. I thank you and count it as done in Jesus name Amen!

My answer to your question is no. Please try to understand my answer without passing judgement.

I find your question amazing..........I'm a Christian.!
On many levels I have forgotten more, than some people will ever know..................One thing that fundamental Christians know is........If we are wrong in our beliefs, what have we lost by treating mankind as we would be treated.........If on the other hand we are right.............then those that criticize us will at some point in time or ETERNITY find out what we know.................

I sincerely hope this answers your question .

OK, the key word here is "fundamental." And yes, fundamentalist of all religion must, by definition, be ignorant of many proven facts.

I think many American Christians are. Most of them don't even associate Christianity with the middle east. I was speaking to my very religious neighbor about the Quran, and he asked me " Isn't that what those Hindu terrorists worship??"

They're not ingorant of the world outside, they just think it's unimportant compared to the afterlife. Which is actually worse than just being ignorant.
