i believe that the double standard when it comes to the genders and sexual promiscuity is justified. Why are men called studs and women aren't? If you want to understand the answer to this perform the following experiment. Get an attractive women to go out and talk to 5 unmarried (and uninvolved) guys for 2 minutes and then have her make a blunt request for sex. Now send an attractive guy out and have him talk to 5 unmarried women for two minutes and then make a blunt request for sex. We all know what will happen in each case. You see a man has to use skill and put in a lot of work that is why is considered a stud. All the women has to do is make herself available. Now if that ever changes then I will change my mind about all of this.

My original question was deleted probably because of the website of the errant church in question. Westboro Baptist Church's url is a crappy one.

Anyhow, check out this story:

http://www.publicopiniononline.com/localnews/ci_4953652

Additionally, what can we, as christians, do to stop this kind of madness. I realize prayer is a powerful tool but faith without works is dead. Says so in James 2.

Anyhow, if you want to see that church's website, just do a google search on westboro baptist church. then you'll see why my question was deleted.

in the begining eve tempted adam to the forbidden fruit in the garden of eden we read this in the bible, god created us as supreme beings and perfect in every way in the image of himself from the dust of the earthhe gave us free spirit and will, and innitial instruction" do not indulge in the fruit of the tree in the beautiful garden,, guess what we didnt listen.lets change the equation here a little and hypothisise a little god =god garden of eden =the beautiful unblemished state god made us in, perfect without fault and with supreme knowledge the fruit or apple= sex/the fruit of our loins now do the math, it mentions a few times "the fruit of our loins in the bible but rarely fruit.. god created jesus from him in mary not from joseph. i believe god had wanded to be our"procreater"to keep our strain pure. look what has happend today with interbreading?? disease, disability problems, do you think this wud have been the case if god had have got a chance to do his work? frag+indigo

This is based on Kalaams cosmological arguement showing that in order to get to today you must have had a yesterday, and so on down to the "beginning". But if there was not a beginning we would not be able to have a today because in an actual infinite there can be no today unless you have gone past the infinite (in other words, there had to be a beginning). This is relative to Zeno's puzzle. If there where an actual infinite, we would not be able to move. Therefore there must be a being who created the universe that is outside of the universe.

Do you really think that by answering every question in the world with the bible says... makes any of us even consider what you are saying for one moment?

Does telling us that we are going to hell unless we believe what you tell us to believe actually mean anything to us? Granted fear will win converts in Nepal but I know the alternatives.

Doesn't it just make sense to all the believers that there are many paths to God?

For non believers, the whole thing is illogical and I have to agree, except I still do believe.

Why do people thing that having a brain and a soul are mutually exclusive? There are plenty of very intelligent people that believe in god that aren't right wing fundies. I feel like the fundamentalists have given us all a bad name.

I just heard about a group in California (friends) that decided to form a group to save our planet. They stopped buying anything for a whole year, except groceries. Anything they bought or needed they bought second hand or they did without. It worked so well they are doing it for another year and expanding the group.

The premise is our society is materialistic and shopping hungry. The more we buy the more gets thrown into the landfill. We can stop it by not shopping all the time.
Could anyone here do this? What are your feelings? Does it help our planet?
