Apparantly, scientists have found links with the behavior of the mother's hormones during pregnancy and the sexual orientation of the child. The mother's hormones overpower and disrupt the development of the fetus, and this is more likely to happen with each child the woman gives birth to.
Though, bottom line, we cannot be sure if it has anything to do with that, and we do not know how this relates to bisexuals and homosexuals. There is an indication, however, that there are real biological reasons to what the sexual orientation of people turn out to be.

How come some people are straight?! It is all within the brain. We all have different chemicals in the brain that sorta tells us what we like. So they may be attracted to another gender. They are just born this way...it isn't a choice because I don't think that someone wakes up and says "I'm gay". It's what you feel inside your body, mind, and spirit. The same goes for straight people.
P.S. Your question doesn't really make sense because it seem like your asking why are all people gay or bisexual!

Since we are all born to this earth we all have the natural tendency of sexual attractions. Some people immediately come out from the closet, some (because of the society, family and religions) hide longer in the closet.
Basically, you really cannot choose to be a gay or straight at all by asking God to do so, can you?

Just because we are.
Why are people black, white or any other color? Why does hair come in many colors? Why are eyes different colors?
Why are some people left handed and most others right handed? (oh btw: scientists DO NOT know for a fact that handedness is actually hereditary, it's a commonly accepted theory! They have NOT found the gene that causes handedness!)
People come in all shapes, sizes, preferances, orientations, religions, cultural backgrounds and beliefs...THANKFULLY or else we'd all be the same and that would be REALLY boring!

There are many reasons for this, just take your pick. Some people say that they were born homosexuals. Others claim to be victims of sexual abuse as children while others pick their life style because that's the way that they want it. A popular excuse for women to become homosexual is too many abusive relationships with men. Some men may choose this life style for lack of confidence with women or a complex about penis size. Imprisoned individuals who can't hold their own may have it forced upon them, yet remaing homosexuals after release because they were in a state of latency to begin with. People who are mentally unstable may also lean towards homosexual behavior. But I suspect that most people are homosexual as a matter of preference.

Maybe because having a certain percentage of non-heterosexual people is good for a society. Variety is not only the spice of life, it may be a survival characteristic of the species. It may be an integral part of Nature's plan. Why are some people left-handed?

What's the difference? It's all the same! Anytime you have sex with someone of the same gender, that automatically makes you gay. So whether you go back and forth with male and female and that person is definitely one or the other, that person is gay! Now Transvestites, they're another story!

It's all a part of the richness of life, like the colour of your skin and the plethora of flora and fauna that exist in this world.
How dull would it be if we all thought the same, felt the same, behaved the same and everything was grey (apologies to anyone reading this with monochromatic vision).

Because that is their decision.Don't give me this crap about genes,love, natural or any other justification for their decisions. They are homosexual or bisexual because they themselves decided to be. It really is that simple. However sometimes simplicity is twisted into a convoluted reptile for the benefit of ones own decisions or misunderstandings.
