Do you really think that by answering every question in the world with the bible says... makes any of us even consider what you are saying for one moment?

Does telling us that we are going to hell unless we believe what you tell us to believe actually mean anything to us? Granted fear will win converts in Nepal but I know the alternatives.

Doesn't it just make sense to all the believers that there are many paths to God?

For non believers, the whole thing is illogical and I have to agree, except I still do believe.

Actually no - and to say that each and every question in life is answered by the Bible is absolute heresy. The Fathers likened it to taking a mosaic of a King and rearranging the pieces to then create the image of a dog.

The Bible is our prime source of wisdom, but by no means is it absolute. The reason that it holds primacy is that it is the sacred mythology of the Christian faith. It contains the core myths of our faith as well as the fullness of the Jewish wisdom tradition from which Christians draw heavily. Further it contains primary instructional material from Jesus that provides the foundation for Christian practice. I'm not a Biblical Literalist - so I can't tell you why they think the Bible is so special.

We also have to take into consideration the holy tradition and information we have about the situation that the Holy Fathers or the Bible authors did not have. In addition, Literalism and fear tactics fail to attract people (although sometimes it succeeds in coercing them) because Christianity then appears to be a rigidly closed system that doesn't have room for anyone except for a narrow slim margin of people.

Christianity is a tradition that is having trouble coping with a globalized society and does not yet have a language to relate to those other traditions with which it has never had to grapple before. However, it is true that many paths lead to God because as Jesus said - "In my Father's house there are many rooms". I am a firmly Orthodox Christian and strive to practice in the tradition of the Fathers and I would never presume to give up my faith, but I also acknowledge that people find value and enlightenment in other traditions.

Christianity should never be engaged in sheep-stealing through coercion, fear-tactics, or high-pressure sales. Instead, like the smell of beautiful incense, Orthodox Christianity attracts those interested in it simply by the beauty of its tradition.

if you have not read about the morden world findings that coincides with the events in the Bible, please go do some reading up. that was how i came to the truth. I never believed in Jesus till i read of the things He did and the findings. Look, its really simple.

Jesus' existence has been proven, so He died for 1 of the 3 reasons.
1) He was deluded into believing He's the Son of God.
2) He was lying.
3) He is telling the truth.

1) would someone crazy be capable of those miracles and teachings?

2) would you die for a lie that doesnt do you any good?

3) then what are u waiting for?

Especially since the Bible is readily available in most libraries and can be obtained quite easily, for free, if you want to read it. You can read it online. I really wish more Christians could explain *why* they consider the Bible such a good source and *why* they believe as they do.

than none of our answers would help you at all...just stop asking us i guess being that you have already made up your mind

so why are you here on this site asking a question of christians if your mind is made up...dont you have something better to do if we are so full of it?

One savior, one path, one way. If you believe otherwise thats your issue that you have to deal with. A person saved by the grace of Jesus Christ does not need your enlightenment so again why waste your time...if your happy in the darkness and you wont listen to those in the light why not just saty in the dark quietly

There is only one way to God... Jesus said: I am the WAY, NOBODY comes to the Father BUT THROUGH Me... There are no "many paths to God." Only one. Maybe this doesn't make you convert, but it helped me.

I feel the same as Chippy.

People need to accept the fact that no one has it 100% right yet! And people need to accept the fact that the bible was written by man, therefore it is fallible.
