They're doing it for attention and to feed their ego. That they are really selfish and self centered and are not really doing it for other people. They are doing it for themselves to make them look good.

If you are starving do you really think you will care what the celebrities do after they give? This might not be the best way but at least they are giving. Some with that type of money don't.
I suspect the celebrities would still give without being noticed and have done it many times without the attention of the media. I would not want to be them. They have to live up to the image the media has given to them.........

Well as I can't see into people's hearts or minds I try and assume the best like maybe by saying what they do they are merely trying to set an example to other less generous people. Or better yet why not be grateful for the needy no matter the intention of the donor.

I believe about 65% of the celebs are really true their charities. But the other 35% do it because they have to. When you make so much $$$ you have to do something with it (for tax purposes). So some of them are broadcasting it to make us normal people think that they care about us, but in actuality, they don't give a DAMN!!!!!

Good point -They may be trying to soften their image or make them look like better human beings..However giving to charity regardless of the reasons is still good..
