Here is my situation: I went to a jewelry store with no intention of buying anything with my friend. I then saw a lovely emerald ring that I could not pass up. Since I just went with my friend, I did not bring my debit card. When she saw how much I wanted that ring, she offered to lend me the $1700.00 to buy it, since she knew that I had the money and would pay her back. I accepted; she put it on her credit card, and the NEXT day I transfered the exact amount to her bank account so she could apply it to her credit card or do with it what she wanted. Here is the issue: my mother thinks that I was rude to accept a loan from a friend! She says under no circumstances is it acceptable in the wonderful world of ettiquette! I personally don't see a problem, since the debt was so quickly repaid; neither does my friend. Am I wrong? Any suggestions?

wanting to do more and more volunteering?
Since we live in such a materialistic society that can be harmful to ourselves and others (potential to become self-centered)
I thought it would be nice to hear from those who learned the art of gratitude, selflessness doing volunteer work: animals, wildlife, people, rain forest ect.
Did these experiences make you so fulfilled that you find yourself wanting to do more and more of it?
And what were some of your personal experiences helping someone or something needy in the world?
Thank you and happy holidays :o)

Our church used to be packed, had an awesome choir and the service was so inspiring. Now we listen to a simply horrible organist. He has a contract. Is there anything the congregation can do? The pastor really doesn't seem to care. We could all go to other churches, or is there a solution?

I wanna know what all the REAL new jersians love about NJ! By real I mean the ones born and raised here, such as myself. I love the variety of weather in the seasons, the shore, salt water taffy, the boardwalk,NOT pumping your own gas and the best friends on the planet. I don't wanna hear from any fake New Jersians or any haters!

The Flying Spaghetti Monster is the deity of a parody religion founded in 2005 by Oregon State University physics graduate Bobby Henderson to protest the decision by the Kansas State Board of Education to require the teaching of intelligent design as an alternative to biological evolution.

In an open letter on his website, Henderson professes belief in a supernatural Creator that resembles spaghetti and meatballs called the Flying Spaghetti Monster, and calls for "Pastafarianism" to be taught in science classrooms, essentially invoking a reductio ad absurdum argument against the teaching of intelligent design. Followers of the Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM) call themselves Pastafarians, a portmanteau of pasta and Rastafarian.

I'm mixed I'm 1/2 black and 1/4 white and 1/4 native american. I really wanted to know how come if you're half black mixed with anything else your automitically black??? What about the other half of you? I don't understand...for example why is Halle Berry black...when she's half white? Why is Mariah Carey black if she's mainly Hispanic? I don't understand is there some kind of rule. I'm not trying to deny my black ancestry but deny the other ones either....why do I have to chose.

What made you reject what you were brought up to believe in?

It in no coincidence that 99.9% of people on this earth are the religon they were raised to belive. If someone with a fanatical personality was born in america with super religous christians parents they will most likely be a fanatical christians. If that same person was raised in Afganistan by fantical muslims they would be a fanatical muslim. So why are they different? They both do ANYTHING asked by their religon and reject anything that does not agree with what they were taught. Is salvation location?

I have had a girlfriend for the past two years whom I love very much. She had told me when we first started dating that she had been raped twice...two separate occassions. I had a hard time dealing with this but overlooked it and tried to be supportive. Well a year into our relationship she calls me one night crying and says she was just raped again at a party. Months went on and I was deeply disturbed by this. Why would a girl let herself get raped(put herself in the position)3 different times. She she was puking in a bathroom at a party when a guy came in and molested her. Then she told me that nothing happened, that the guy just tried to feel her up. Now tonight she let it slip out that the guy actually had sex with her. This is an outrage to me. For one I don't think she got tested after the fact. Also why didn't she go to the authorities? We just broke up over this tonight and I'm having a really hard time dealing. I think she just cheated on me and can't deal with telling me.

According to this website, http://www.auburn.edu/~allenkc/trinity.html#_1_5, Jesus constantly refers to GOD (in the Bible, "Father") as God. So where does the idea of Jesus's being a God come from? I'm only asking...
On that same website, you'll see:
VII. Bible Verses Prove Trinity False
Listed below are over a hundred individual Bible verses which prove conclusively that Jesus Christ was not God.... We urge all sincere Christians to examine their own Bibles as to the accuracy of this information.
Matthew 3:16-17; 8:29; 11:27; 12:18; 14:33; 16:16-17; 17:5; 27:54
Mark 5:7; 15:39
Luke 1:32; 1:35; 8:28; 9:35; 10:22
John 1:13; 1:18; 1:34; 1:49; 3:16; 5:19-23; 5:37; 6:40; 6:69; 8:18; 8:42; 10:15; 10:36; 11:4; 12:49-50; 14:13; 14:23; 14:28; 16:17; 17:1-16; 20:17; 20:31

Romans 1:4; 5:10; 8:29

People keep saying "Santa's real!" and "No he's not!" No one knows what to believe anymore!

2006-12-24 12:48:37 · 11 answers · asked by Anonymous in Mythology & Folklore

Parent's teach there kid's that lying isnt good. so then why do parent's lie to us.. if santa isnt real then why do parents go so far as to make there kids believe in sanata. insted of putting from santa just put from mom&dad. Don't they know that it can affect children? ever since they were little ther eparents were telling them about santa and the reinders and even going as far as to help us put milk, carrots and cookies on a plate for "santa". Well then the kid grows up and has tons of kids telling them that snata isnt real. What? we turn a certain age and were just suposed to know that santa's make believe? does anyone see hwow this can affect kids? So is he real or not?! Im tired of hearing one things from the kids in my class and another from my parents.. and if he isnt why do parents even tell there kids about santa anyways?!

Assume the rapture happens.

40% of Americans are on welfare, dont work or pay taxes that run the government.

60,000,000 BIble Believeing Americans that work and pay taxes. The Liberals will pull their cash register in Washington DC and it will be empty!

I am not asking if you think the Rapture is real. Or if you believe in G-d. I pretty much have heard everyones belief.
