I have some Italian friends. I think Italians are sometimes short tempered but really down to earth, they make "awesome" dishes, the gesturculate (hand motions) alot when talking and the men make very great kissers....
But I know some people consider them racist ( did you see the Matterazzi and Zedane "drama" in the world cup)
Personally, I have never met a racist Italian.... well, hope that gives you some insights

Usually very nice people. They usually stick up for their heritage (unlike many other people of European descent), and they often make good husbands, fathers, relatives, friends, etc.
P.S. Vanilla:
Many Italians are White. My Italian uncle has light brown hair, light skin, and light blue eyes. I am Polish and German, and I have dark blue eyes (although there is also an amber ring) and more color in my skin. (Following stereotypes, shouldn't I be the lighter one?) Obviously many (especially Sicilians) are dark and probably have mixed bloodlines, but the Italian ethnicity is one of the few where race must be determined by the individual.

I grew up in an predominantly Italian town. I am English, German and Danish. Some of my fondest memories were the times I spent with my Italian neighbors and friends. Good people, good times, good food! And a very Merry Christmas to you and yours!

I'm Italian too. I can tell you this.... every other Italian I've met has been someone I can relate to. Same background, same upbringing, same life's experiences. I think Italians are some what misunderstood, but are fiercely loyal people. We have great food too!! I love Italians!!

The Italian people I have known are VEry talented. Don't know why this is, but I have played in several musical groups and have known GREAT talents of Italian decent.
Of course, then you have Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, .............

The Italians I have met have all been wonderful people. Seem to have a lot of life and movement.
