Assume the rapture happens.

40% of Americans are on welfare, dont work or pay taxes that run the government.

60,000,000 BIble Believeing Americans that work and pay taxes. The Liberals will pull their cash register in Washington DC and it will be empty!

I am not asking if you think the Rapture is real. Or if you believe in G-d. I pretty much have heard everyones belief.

Assume this happens, what do u think will happen to American economy??

EDIT: not asking if its a dream....just asking what the economy would be like without 60 million taxpayers.

Is that so hard?

I believe in the rapture, and I believe it is coming soon. That doesn't mean tomorrow.

To your question, the U.S. will become a place of run-away greed, houses of those that rapture will be looted, few will be willing to put in an honest days work, but will want an honest days pay. We will not have the guts to defend ourselves, we will be more concerned with no risk activities.

The Arab world will be free to attack Israel because they know that the U.S. will not do anything about it.

We will become a third world nation.
China, Japan, India and Egypt will become the power player in the world. However I cannot see the terrorists disarming just because the church has been raptured.

I think the Iraq war is in the front running for destroying our economy. But the rapture really isn't the bigest thing on the prophetic-fulfillment scope. The church seems to think that it is, but that is a somewhat self-centered interpretation of scripture. we are good at making those. The rapture is not even directly mentioned in the Revelation. I believe it will happen, but it is not likely to be at the front end of the tribulation period as so many Christians are sure that it will. They also don't mind altering the events of scripture to put it at the beginning of the tribulation. Let me put it this way, read Matthew 24 when Jesus is talking to His disciples about the end time calendar of events, and find the rapture of the church. The events are listed more or less in chronological fashion, but it's not until verse 31 (late in the chapter) that He gets to the gathering of the elect.

Well, if I believed that drivel, I would say their are now 60,000,000 job openings, and the economy will be fine.

On the other hand, the spread of Christianity in the rest of the world has contributed significantly to poverty and exploitation, so globally a rapture would be a huge economic boon.

Ummm... if you don't already know the American economy is DOOMED. Too many reasons for me to explain, but read these articles by Mark S. Watson. He explains everything really well.
It's a few days worth of reading, but I'd start from the beginning if you want to truly understand everything he is talking about.

They're the ones titled "Political Economic and Spiritual Review." They used to be called "The Coming Economic Depression" before he realized it was also the end times.

40% of our industry has been moved to countries who support slave labor...and we buy the products back.
Bible believing Americans are primarily the cause of the current political disaster in America and continue to support an idiot in office who is responsible for the largest deficit this country has ever had, has caused the death of thousands of Iraqi citizens, soldiers and American soldiers. (Did you know the war in Iraq has not been added to the countries budget)? The conservatives are responsible for death and the future bankruptcy of America, not the liberals.
The American economy is smoke and mirrors and only the rich are getting richer.
Too bad Jesus is not real...maybe he would come save us from ourselves.

Didn't anyone tell you, the rapture happened last week. Jesus came and took all the worthy people to heaven.

All the Buddhists are gone.

I don't think the economy will be so affected. Stability and government will fade rapidly. This will open the door for the anti-Christ to gain the confidence of the whole world. Then his work will really begin.

There will not be an American economy. The Antichrist will then rule with a one world government, one world religion, one world currency. It's going to be a scary time.

God Bless you and Merry Christmas.

I don't spend time worrying about things that won't happen. It's better to worry about what the people who do believe in this tripe are going to do to run our country into the ground.
