The witches make three predictions in the begining of the play. In this order...
1) Macbeth will become Thane of Cawdor (which as a reader we know has already happened, but Macbeth hasnt heard the news yet)
2) Macbeth will become King
3) Banquo sons will be king, but he will not become king himself

Sometimes people get the three predictions mixed up with what the three apparitions (conjured by the three witches) tell Macbeth later on in the play.
1) The soldier's head- tells Macbeth to fear Macduff
2) The bloody baby- No man born of woman shall harm Macbeth
3) Crowned child holding a tree branch- tells Macbeth he is safe until Birnam Wood comes to his castle on Dunsinane Hill.

Macbeth is actually an enjoyable play to read. But if you dont have time, then at least read the summaries off of sparknotes.com

The witches make three predictions; Macbeth will be the Thane of Cawdor, he will be King, and Banquo’s sons will be king but not Banquo.

Well... sort of. The witches call Macbeth "Thane of Glamis" (which already is, so that's not really a prediction), "Thane of Cawdor," and "king hereafter." So basically, they predict that he will became the Thane of Cawdor and the King of Scotland. They predict that Banquo "shall get kings" although he will not become king himself - in other words, that his sons will become kings.

Macbeth will be king but will not be the father of a king. he can not be killed by a man of woman born and the third is that he will remain king until the woods come to the castle. (sorry I forgot the names)
