Speak to people one on one, then in little groups, then raise a toast. Play games with the kids. Help in the kitchen.
If you can't stand all the time, make sure you let people know an hour sooner that you have another appointment. No surprises.

hire a tarot reader, or massage therapist, and or belly dancer. Bring some recent photos to pass around, your favorite book your reading/discuss it w/someone.
balance your checkbook in the bathroom stall for awhile.
sneak back in the bathroom and catch up on your Christmas calls.
go back to the dance floor and dance the night away.
