Why do people call The United States of America simply "America"? How is the rest of the continent supposed to be called?

I was born able to see (sensitive, NOT psychic), I didn't ask for it. I still beleive in God, but am I'm evil by default by your beleifs because I can see and sense things that you cannot? How do you figure that?

Is it just me or is christmas depressing??? My parents are divorced, and my dad has split up with his girlfriend. All there is going to be is 2 houses: my mum, me and ma brother, and then my dad, me, my brother and my grandma. I don't find it easy to get excited about christmas. theres too much hype. Also, my dad split up with his girlfriend last christmas, like around that time, and I found out that my mum started having an affair around christmas. so it doesn't seem such an enjoyable time. Every christmas, I have had a full family, or a "full family". eiter been my proper family, or my dads girlfriend that was like a second mum to me. Now it's going to be different, probably not for the better. Does anybody else see christmas as an unhappyish time???

What are the current politically correct names for the following catergories? They change quite often:

Blacks: afro-americans, african-americans, colored, blacks, ******?

Whites: caucasions, whites?

Mexicans: hispanics, mexicans?

Indians: native americans, indians?

Homosexuals: gays, lesbians, homosexuals?

Notice I'm not including any slang or negative terms. I'm looking for the politically correct labels.

What is it that is so much worse than anything that has happened before?? IMO nothing is, we've had numerous periods throughout history that were MUCH MUCH worse than anything that is happening today, it you think things are bad today, you really need to pick up a history book. The world is an a virtual golden age compared to most past history.

It seems that if you really believed that the holiday is for the birth of Jesus, you would stick to that and skip Santa, trees, gift giving, etc. etc. Don't tell me those things are connected to Jesus. That is a HUGE stretch.

If you don't believe in one religion, you'll go to hell, don't believe the other, you'll go to hell. Does Judaism believe that if Jesus died for our sins, you go to heaven? They don't believe he is the messiah.
So does that mean all jews are going to hell. People can't nick pick through the bible and say if they are a good person they will go to heaven. If you believe in Christianity, a person must believe that Jesus died for your sins to go to heaven. If you're a christian and don't believe in this, then you're not a christian, you're nick picking.
