Do you go out for dinner on Christmas day?

Some nicer places in hotels are open, so I made a reservation. There are only 2 of us and we can't cook for ****. My friends think I'm strange for not making the traditional dinner, and that my Christmas seems kind of "cold". What do you think?

We live really far from family, and most of our friends are going away. that's why just the 2.
