Monotheists - since everything that happens happens according to "God's" will, then it's "His" will that I'm a Pagan.

And If I'm supposed to change, according to "His" will, it'll happen without your preaching at me.

So you're wasting your time AND working against "His" will.

So, how about getting your ego out of the way and letting "Him" work in "His" way, instead of yours?

My parents gave me 20 dollars for my birthday. I have been saving it so I could buy each member in my family (husband, Dad, Mom, 5 brothers, their wives, 1 sister, nieces & nephews) a nice gift.

I'm short on time, since they are all coming to our place for Christmas, so my options of making gifts are narrowing. (I had thought of some pages of writing from my journal, painted jars or ornaments, beaded earrings, a list of Christmas riddles, or a family birthday list, or use some cardstock to make "Grandma & Grandpa" booklets to store their grandkids artwork/notes/ photos in or make a paper stocking for each one and tape them in one area together so they know we are all part of the same family.

I was thinking of chapstick or lip-gloss, a candle or something. I don't want to look cheap, but 20 dollars is all I have to spend on Christmas gifts this year and I'm thankful for that?

Any ideas come to mind???

Thanks!

The careless disposal of wrappers, fast-food containers etc. is fast becoming an annoying problem in our neighbourhood. Many people just throw their garbage, wherever they just happen to walk. The City does not employ street cleaners. What would be the best way to battle this uncivilized behaviour? Who should pay for the clean-up? Should the use of biodegradable dishes and cutlery be made mandatory for the food industry ? Your suggestions are appreciated.

Many people think about how important their own religion is to them, personally. Unfortunately, some people firmly rooted in a faith have not thought about the social implications of their respective faith(s). This question is for those in any faith (i.e. Muslim, Christian, Jew, Hindu) who have thought about these implications and how they impact society as a whole.

For example, how does religious tennants serve as population growth control or social order and law abiding behavior? Why are these important in our society and how would these principles be served if mass religion or religous practice did not exist? Would the world erupt in chaos without religion... or would humans find a new social order of their own?

I think I am a loser, and my secret wish is to die a swift painless death from a small, random meteor impact. What about you? Or do you just think wonderful happy thoughts all the time?

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Why do Christians put so much emphasis on this verse? Was he not created to die for the world's sins? How big of a sacrifice was it really? Wasn't Jesus going straight back to heaven to be with God? I guess what I'm asking is if Jesus was going back to heaven to be with God, then why do Christians think God made such a sacrifice?

I know this sounds rude, but I am honestly just wanting to know your opinions on this.

(Isn't even the very first cells of a human life... a life nonetheless?
It may grow one cell at a time, but how can anyone decide at what point during (first cell devision to head partially out of womb) that it is a human life worthy of the right to live?
And I am anti-death penalty as well as any killing of human life.
So don't go there please!)

The answers to my question talks about cut off fingers, finger nail cells and bacteria in toilets!!!! C'mon! In my question I said "HUMAN LIFE" !!!! and sorry, so far human cloning doesn't work from these non-embryonic things and so far stem cell research is fiction. Try again! And please don't misquote me!

I would like to invite his family to worship (they're not church attenders) with the rest of our family. The pastor knows my brother believes his twins are too precious to be "sinful" (not the act, but the state of being) and the pastor happens to be baptizing two babies on the afternoon my brother comes to town. Oh brother of course has just offered to stay home and take care of the babies, while the rest of us attend worship/double-baptism. Pastor has said he would love to have a little discussion with brother to answer any questions, etc. I have been praying about this and for the little babies.

What is best???

Have you ever felt like asking this question to someone you just met? It's a very rare feeling you only get when you feel like you've met the person before. You're really comfortable with them and you feel like you've known them forever, but you can't seem to put your finger on it. It's kind of eerie in a way.

Four years ago, when I met my friend, I asked him, "Why do I feel like I've met you before?" and he said, "I know! I felt the exact same way." We tried retracing our pasts, but it turns out we never met before.

Now that I'm in college, I met this girl who lives in my dorm and she's from another state, but we both feel like we've met each other before too.

Why does this phenomenon occur?

Are you able to disagree with another's beliefs without attacking them for those beliefs?

I ask because one user, "Pinky," seems to be an atheist who only has it out for Christians and has been posting many offensive and insensitive questions.

The phrase is for my son who died at birth. It is "Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand"
It is going on his gravestone and I am going to get a tattoo of it.

Thanks for the help.
