I'm a 20yr old black woman and I have healthy, shoulder length hair.A man complemented me on how pretty my hair was,then proceeded to tell me that it was odd for me to be black and have long silky hair.I explained t him about hair length having nothing to do with ethnic background ,but how well it was cared for.I didn't get angry but I always get insulted when people say things like this.Should I have felt insulted? Was this a rude/racist comment?

We are out of touch Gentiles in the Texas "bible-belt". There is no mention of this holiday here.

Whats the point of this? Why would god create Jesus, just to kill him, so jesus could die for other people sins. Why doesn't god just forgive people sins, instead of creating someone and then killing him. I mean god is all-powerful right, so why doesn't he forgive our sins or make people perfect and cannot sin?

God is a bad father. Killing your own son and then claiming that Jesus dies for our sins. This is absurd.

What should my priorites be? house-cleaning? game/activity planning? preparing for the family photos? sending Christmas cards? buying gifts? making gifts? wrapping gifts? teaching my dogs to be quiet as a Christmas mouse??? taking care of my health and sanity???

Sometimes people can be so unbelievably rude. There are no etiquette books, these days anyway, to tell people what's right and what's wrong; but sometimes you just know 'Hey, that's just not right.'
Example, back in the sad days when I needed to use a laundromat, I went to get my stuff out of the washer one day and I found a bunch of things that weren't mine. I was sure it was empty when I put first my clothes in. Anyway, a woman approached me and said 'Oh those are mine'. She had actually put her laundry in my wash after it had already started. Ewww! I just stood there speachless, I mean what do you say to something like that? She did'nt even thank me either!;)
Give me some good examples please, but keep it clean - excuse the pun.

As a parent, I often come across newspaper and magazine articles that assert that today's high school students are expected to learn more than their parents did in high school. Is this because of advances in science, especially genetics? Have the history lessons really expanded that much over 30 years? What is your opinion.
