1 Corinthians 12:3 states:
And no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the holy Spirit.
This belief is proclaimed at every Mass in the Nicene Creed (from 325 A.D.) when all Catholics say:
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God.
I think Mother Teresa and Pope John Paul II were two of the most spirit-filled people in the recent past.
With love in Christ.

My suspicion is that it is easier for Catholics and Orthodox to become Spirit filled than most Protestants. Most Protestant communities lack depth. Revivals are an interesting example. Why do you need revivals if your community is Spirit filled? How has it leaked away? The better question is what is going on in the modern world that is keeping some from being Spirit filled?

The question is quite offensive, it's not about can they be but why not most of them?
Anyone can if they are open to Holy Spirit. Catholicism teaches the fullness of salvation so you would think all Catholics are 'spirit-filled' but people fall away.
Someone suggested turning from the sacraments but that would be moving away from being spirit-filled. Would you move away from marriage, a holy sacrament and live in sin and still consider yourself "spirit-filled"? No I wouldn't thing so.
An interesting fact about Catholics is they are are all born again, and whats more they are born again the bible-way why non-Catholics aren't also is a mystery (basically some sects have changed the meaning of what it is to be born again and that's coming from so-called bible-believers it's ashame really)

Catholics become temples of the Holy Spirit at baptism, just like every other true Christian does.

Sure they can. God has some of his people in that assembly.
Revelation 18:1 After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was made bright with his glory. (2) And he called out with a mighty voice, "Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place for demons, a haunt for every unclean spirit, a haunt for every unclean bird, a haunt for every unclean and detestable beast. (3) For all nations have drunk the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown rich from the power of her luxurious living." (4) Then I heard another voice from heaven saying, "Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues; (5) for her sins are heaped high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.
Revelation 17:4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her sexual immorality. (5) And on her forehead was written a name of mystery: "Babylon the great, mother of prostitutes and of earth's abominations." (6) And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. When I saw her, I marveled greatly. (7) But the angel said to me, "Why do you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast with seven heads and ten horns that carries her. (8) The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to rise from the bottomless pit and go to destruction. And the dwellers on earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world will marvel to see the beast, because it was and is not and is to come. (9) This calls for a mind with wisdom: the seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman is seated;

Yes, but not because they are Catholic, but because they have been born again.
Satan has a spirit, like an angel of light, and his demons are like ministers of rightousness. Don't forget that like our Charismatic friends have. It is dangerous.

Certainly,if they first are willing to turn from the useless sacraments they perform and accept Christ as their personal Savior. That's true for everyone.
