I think this thinking is related to the fallacies that occur if you take relativism to its logical end (i.e. if you believe something, then it is true for you). It may help you achieve more than you could have otherwise, but in the end, it doesn't change reality such as scientific laws. There is absolute reality in the world just as there is an absolute right and wrong. To claim one can create their own reality is, well....illogical. Live long and prosper.

I have never met anyone who absolutely didn't have any doubt they could fly but have read about a few people on drugs and one who was drunk who decided they could fly. From the news item, I don't think it happened or if it did the landing was somewhat rough.

NO... I tried to fly when I was 11... didn't work... didn't break anything but did not walk good for a week or so...course it would have worked if I have been a better aerodynamic engineer... dont use 1X2s and heavy canvas to make a glider...and start on a gental slope...and dont use an old wagon for landing gear.

Well you can do almost anything. You still have to consider the risk factor.
