Society & Culture - 15 December 2006

This will be my fathers last christmas as he has cancer and pulmonary fibrosis and is not expect to survive much longer. He is a wonderful man and I want this holiday to be special. Any ideas?
He is also a 14 yr heart transplant survivor and very active in organ donation and loves loves loves golf.

I first started to learn Hebrew from my cousin Leora who lives in Israel. When I first heard the language I was amazed because it was so different. I heard it through songs that she has sent me. From there on, I started to try to learn hebrew.
I am still a beginner, but I have progressed. I can have a decent conversation with someone. I want to take a course to speak more conversational hebrew but their is no classes around where I live. so I teach myself everything. I am actuall quite good at it too. I am currently learning how to write in hebrew.
I hope to visit Israel and my family that lives there. I dont have enough money right now and I am still in school. I also want to attend college there for hebrew studies. That is one of my goals before I die. I am still saving my money and hope to visit soon.
Israel seems like a beautiful country despite the war. I have seen many great pictures. I want to explore different parts of Israel. Someday I also hope to live there for a few years.

Seems to be about 13/14 year olds that cause the most trouble in my neighbourhood.
I hate boredom being used as an excuse, as I have been bored at every age at one time or another,but don't cause trouble etc.

I read an article that said if you can stay alive for another twenty years you may be able to live forever. They claimed technology was getting to the point where we may be able to regrow tissue. If so, every couple of years, you could go in to a doctor and regrow your skin, organs, etc. Making it possible to live forever. I'm not sure I would want to live forever. I don't know if the brain could handle it. What do you think?

This will be the 3rd time I am asking this question because YA! keeps removing my question....

I had my first encounter with 2 Jehovah's Witnesses. They were 2 nice old ladies. We had a pleasant conversation for 30 mins. The first thing they said was "Did you know that you can live forever?". I had to repeatedly tell them I am an atheist. I was appalled by their faith. And it was not a nice feeling to me.

What has your encounter, if any, been with JW?

I got my two little nephews, A blow dart gun,(for the 8 year old),who has alot of energy,and loves guns,and it is all made of foam,so he can't hurt his little brother,and for the youngest (6 year old) who has a deep passion for animals,and wants to be a vet one day,a realistic looking stuffed lion.
