I have to give it to you. You ask some really hard questions. On a scale of 1 to 10 in difficulty that one has to be at least a 20. It is almost impossible to answer.
But I guess if I have to say the best gift I ever received, it came straight from the Old Man Himself (God, Jesus, Holy Spirit) and that is my good health.
As far as the best I have ever given. I guess that would be flowers to my mother and wife. There is something about having the florist deliver flowers to them at work that means more to them than anything else.

The best gift I ever got was a homemade gift certificate from my boyfriend (he's my husband now). It was for a trip to Chicago to an Art Exhibit. It was just so sweet. I really don't know what the best gift I've ever given. If I had to guess I'd say it's the homemade stockings I make for my family.

Not counting gifts from God, the best was when my wife said yes to my proposal of marriage at Christmas. I haven't given the best yet...we just celebrated 30 years of marriage and with a few blessings we'll have another 30...so I have, hopefully, a long time to finally get it right.

The best Christmas gift I ever got was a new (well, not so new, and it was a junker, but, it ran well, and had lots of metal around it), red Ford Thunderbird. My Dad drove it down our street (we lived at the end of a cul-de-sac), with a red ribbon on the front, and parked it in the driveway. He came up the walk, and I ran out and hugged him. Out neighbor, who was watching from her kitchen window, was so glad to see me do that. The best gift I gave was my life back to my parents after 22 hours of brain surgery on Dec. 1 and 2, I came home from the hospital Dec 24. I went back into the hospital Dec. 25 night, but, I was home for XMAS day, and have been alive ever since, to give them two grandchildren, a wonderful son-in-law, and whatever joy I give them. :)

the best gift that I ever recieved was last year when my two best and dearest friends, threw me a small x-mas party and the best that I think that I ever gave was when I gave each of them a x-mas coffee mug, they both loved them and my male friend was thrilled when I also gave him a can of internation swiss chia coffee. I really enjoyed seeing how happy he was when I knew that I had nailed the perfect gift for him.

I kind of hate to admit this. It is certainly not politically correct. When I was 5 years old I got a complete GI outfit. I had a uniform, plastic gun and plastic hand grenades and a helmet. I still have a picture of me wearing the uniform on Christmas Day.
Oh, and by the way, I do not own a gun and have never injured anyone or anything with a gun.

We don't celebrate Christmas, as I'm not of the Christian faith. I celebrate Alvistide. Alvistide is when we Alvians celebrate the birth of Alvis, our lord and savior. Alvis is a miraculous miracle incarnate! Alvis is the holiest man who ever slapped iron! He killed for your sins.
And we Alvians give each other whiskey and firearms. We get wasted at Alvistide, and find and beat the asses of the non believers.
