When this happens, you cannot ever arrive at the conclusion "I think, I exist". There is not a thing in this world that one may know with objective philosophic certainty -- but that doesn't stop us from employing and ascertaining useful knowledge. If you fence-sit on the subject of reality, then your claims to soundness are absurd.

Either there are facts of the matter that logic and reason can arrive at, or you are committed to global skepticism, in which case your claims are meaningless. But if you bite the realist bullet, then how can you deny what evidence we have against the existence of an invisible, supernatural, inconceiveable deity?

Ha ha ok, I don't want any girls tellin' me I'm a jerk. Check this out some guys are picky: if your feet look like raisons, your breath stinks, you have zits (damn), I'm out. You see I'm not the only guy that thinks this way ; girls why do you get mad when a guy speaks his mind ? Girls do this "speakin' of the mind" all the time, so give a boy a break ! Is being picky so bad ?

Honestly.....if you are saved He is Saviour. But to what degree is He L-rd? I was thinking about this yesterday.

Is He

A) Just my Saviour, I rule my own life

B) Saviour and L-rd over religious decisions only.

C) L-rd over religious and moral decisions

D) L-rd over alot of my life, I still have some thing I keep

E) L-rd over almost everything, I am trying to give over my will 100% and I am almost there

OR

F) HE is Saviour and L-rd. He rules and reigns my every decision. I am a vessel, He steers the ship 100%

G) WHo is Jesus? I dont believe in that stuff.

(I am an E and working)

There is a difference between an emotional feeling and a physical feeling. These types of feelings are very different.

Feeling the wind is a physical feeling. Feeling God is an emotional feeling.

Can someone explain to me why "You can't see the wind, but you can feel it. Just like God: you can't see Him, but you can feel Him." is even remotely valid?

That seems like a very poor comparison to me. What are your thoughts?

Okay yeah I'm black but like most of my friends/ all the guys I like are white or every other race. I was randomly talking to this girl from another class about one of my friends who is the same way. This girl says "I can't believe she's dating a white guy!" In my opinion there's nothing wrong with interracial dating (obviously). What do you guys think? L8ter.

Do you think science will be able to make a living being someday?
Or will it be able to demonstrate human thoughts or dreams using a screen and a speaker?
(I mean I have doubts: what makes a living being or brain function? Is it merely chemical and electrical activity or not?
I also have doubts about the existence of a conscious supreme being and about religions.
I will probably never become a theist or an atheist because both are very sure in their ideas..
I will and can never be sure of anything..

I'm just too shy. I guess it's because when I was growing up, I had crooked teeth and it just stuck. My teeth are fixed and I'm still socially inept...I feel rather insecure about myself. I'm even afraid to talk to guys..especially guys that I like. =/

Most Athiests here are guilt ridden or hate themselves. They are either trying to justify their beliefs and soothe their conscience, or they ask questions that produce insults to rationalize their lack of self worth.

Which one are you? When I was an athiest I hated myself.

I admit my mind is closed, so "educating people" is no good answer. If it isnt from the Bible, we dont want it.

Satan can only enter minds not hearts...I know the truth and shut my mind up since. Jesus said to Judas "open your eyes and your heart....not your mind"

Just fishing.....am I warm or WAY off?? Self hate...or conscience?

I certianly admit..I have been wrong before. If I am wrong, its ok. If not, perhaps I have helped you get honest, and you will seek help!
I hate the sin, but I love the sinner. All religious and non religious are sinners. Hate me if you wish. But I love you and want to help you come to awareness. I am a psych grad BTW. I feel many hurting souls here.

Book recommendations? I recently liked, Ishmael (novel/Daniel Quinn), God Delusion (awesome/Richard Dawkins), Devil's Chaplin (Dawkins), Quality of Life Report (novel/some writer I forgot), Nickeled and Dimed (non-fiction/someone)...

Need some new reading material so that I don't spend all my time on this series of tubes thing. I really enjoyed Dawkins' last two books. Oh, and I've read Sam Harris's books too...

Any recommendations? Either in the vain of my Dawkins kick, or just out of the blue? I'm probably due for some fiction.
