This is my question why do people mistaken confidence for beeing self absorbed (cocky). Why can't people just take it, ok this guy is sure of themselves...Do you know what I'm talking about? Feel my drift?

I think a lot of people just have a hard time telling the difference between confidence and arrogance. Or maybe jealousy is a factor... they see someone who is confident and get jealous because they're not very confident themselves and tell themselves that the person is just arrogant in attempt to turn the person's advantage into something negative to make themselves feel better about their lack of confidence.
I hope that makes sense.

True confidence is often confused with arrogance.
