I see this question was asked several times and will go back and see what people's responses are, but this link here http://www.jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/121006/met_6669232.shtml
comes from my hometown newspaper and it was interesting, not to try and politicize this, what a representative of Florida's response was. Me? I came from Central Islip New York, and we were a very diverse community. I was born in 1970 and was at the very influential age when Rap became Main Stream. Especially Public Enemy. NWA was the group that opened my eyes (figurativly speaking of course) to African Americans using the N word so freely. Up until those two groups I think I lived a pretty sheltered life in to never really knowing the struggles that the African American went through. Me? Personally I think the word is offensive whoever says it? Even going through Leadership classes in the Navy it is brought up. I know how this Yahoo Answers works and how far it reaches people. Honest answers please.

I was at these two parents house the other day, and there was their kid in the front room watching mickey mouse. The mom and dad came in and said "Turn this off, we're watching the news.

When the news was on, someone said something about Saddam Hussain, the kid said, Who's Saddam Husain. The parents were horrified, but the five year old didn't understand what he'd done wrong, and asked why he should know who he was. They simply said, because he's evil and kills lots of people. They then started lecturing him, saying that he should watch more about Saddam Husain than micky mouse. I would just like to ask, how is this good? Giving a five year old knowledge of evil?

He was the one who gave the best point of the arguement, because he asked them,
"Why would I want to know about something so evil."

I recently had a confrontation with an extremely angry individual. I stood my ground and that evening carried on as usual. But that weekend I begun to feel really sick in my stomach as I did when she had been shouting I felt as though a knife was searing across my stomach.
This horrible feeling lasted for more than a week and then appeared to move up to my chest where it is a dull ache but I am better able to tolerate it.

Two nights in a row I awoke with a start and I felt as though I had been hit in the chest with a hammer.

I have felt this way to a lesser extent for example when I have dealt with someone who dislikes me. A reader once said that I was too open and this is why I use to be constantly tired for no apparent reason.

I am hoping someone can explain what I am experiencing and can help me protect myself.

New (genetically new) species have arisen in historical times. For example:

* A new species of mosquito, the molestus form isolated in London's Underground, has speciated from Culex pipiens (Byrne and Nichols 1999; Nuttall 1998).

* Helacyton gartleri is the HeLa cell culture, which evolved from a human cervical carcinoma in 1951. The culture grows indefinitely and has become widespread (Van Valen and Maiorana 1991).

* A similar event appears to have happened with dogs relatively recently. Sticker's sarcoma, or canine transmissible venerial tumor, is caused by an organism genetically independent from its hosts but derived from a wolf or dog tumor (Zimmer 2006; Murgia et al. 2006).

* Several new species of plants have arisen via polyploidy (when the chromosome count multiplies by two or more) (de Wet 1971). One example is Primula kewensis (Newton and Pellew 1929).

I think we all evolved around Darwin's way of thinking. Just wondered if any of you felt the same?We all had to come from somewhere and i know the Bible said we were all created in God's own imagine. So what image was that? Your input will be interesting.

So many people on here have asked for some proof of evolution. Since they seem to like ignoring the fossil record for one reason or another, let's go in a different direction - after all, there's a lot of evidence to work with!

A retrovirus is a sneaky kind of virus which infects it's host by inserting it's own DNA into the DNA of it's host. It just sticks itself in somewhere at random, and everytime that DNA strand is replicated inside the host, the virus gets copied as well - so the host is basically producing the virus that's making it sick. In addition, that virus, which is now part of the DNA, is passed on to any offspring the host may have.

DNA is really really long - and a retrovirus can stick itself in there anywhere at random. Therefore, you would expect people with the same infect ancestor to have the virus in the same place in their DNA chain, but people without common ancestors to have it in different places.

For example, when entering a convenience store in the UK, you may ask the clerk "where can I find some cookies?" and they say "cookies?... cookies?"

And then you are forced to say, "Yes, cookies." before they will defign their misunderstanding and then they say, "You mean cakes."

This happens on more than one ocasion and with other products as well. So, I'm wondering why they have to pretend to be so polite about it when all they have to do is be blunt and to the point.

Is this a cultural difference that Americans are so blunt and the British have to be so bloody sickeningly sarcasticaly polite and waist precious minutes of everyone's time? Give me your answer on this.

Its was a cold winters night in lapland and Santa was pi55ed off! He only had a few hours left to make preperations for xmas and things were in a bad way!
He'd sent the Angel out hours ago to fetch the tree and he'd last been seen heading into a bar with Rudolph
The elves had gone on strike over the european working directive, they were annoyed their overtime had been cut back.
Rupolph had called in sick (a likely story) and the rest of the raindeer were out of there heads on the free whiskey the suppliers had sent out.
On top of all this Mrs Clause had just announced she was leaving Santa, she'd had enough of the long winters and felt she deserved a break somewhere warm to top up her tan and she'd see him when she was ready to talk

Not a good day for Santa!

Just then the door burst open and the angel staggered in- dragging a tree stinking of alcohol and cigerette smoke.

"where should I stick this tree santa" he asked

Hence the reason we have an angel atop of the tree..

Today I was in a store waiting in line and heard one guy say to another "Poor people are poor because they are lazy and stupid". The guy making the comment didn't realize how much his voice carried, but it caused two people to laugh, one older guy to comment "********" under his breath, and a lady to leave the line up in disgust. The guy saying it looked upper middle class being dressed quite well.

This really makes me wonder. Why is there such malicious dislike of people just scraping by? What about the mixed response by people?

Have you ever wondered that? They tell you that you are going to hell, that you are living your life wrong, and yet, they swear? Why. Are you one of them? Thoughts. Opinions.

In order to respond to this question, let me remind you that I am seeking the name ofa religion, not the answer to a mystery. Confabulating the truth will not help in any manner whatsoever AND NEITHER WILL DENIAL. I know any of you can answer any difficult questions with ease, so why not answer my question directly and with confidence. Remember, if someone is to ask, "What is the nature of the Universe," please do not respond with a vague answer such as ,"Depends on the Universe." I am asking you to be polite and I am nearly in tears thinking how rude you could be in response to my question, and as sa Christian scholar would say, you would be dealing with t he Devil. Please be polite and I will treat you with the upmost respect. Deviate from the question and I will respond with a sharp toungue. Thank you, and God bless you wherever you go.
