How about a commandment...Thou shalt not kill. Catholoicism and many sects of Christianity deem suicide to be an unforgivable sin for the most simple of reasons That is that God will forgive you for any sin. You only have to ask His forgiveness. BUT... If you kill youself, how do you ask forgiveness? God doesn't have a pre-paid plan. You can't really ask for forgiveness BEFORE you commit the sin, yet in the case of suicide, you can't really ask for forgiveness AFTER you commit the sin either. Because you're dead. Therefore, no forgiveness. No absolution. And in the case of the religious affiliations named above, no burial in hallowed ground, either. As for a specific scripture against suicide, I can't quote you one.

My answer is no I cannot specifically to suicide, however any scripture related to murder would also apply to suicide since that is essentially what it is.

The Noble Qur'an - An-Nisa 4:29
...And do not kill yourselves (nor kill one another). Surely, Allah is Most Merciful to you.
Suicide is when a person kills himself intentionally by whatever means. This is haraam and regarded as amongst the major sins, and likewise included in the general statement of Allaah (Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala):
{And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell to abide therein, and the Wrath and the Curse of Allaah are upon him, and a great punishment is prepared for him}, [Soorah an-Nisaa, Aayah 93].
And it is established from the Sunnah on the authority of the Prophet (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) who said:
((Indeed, whoever (intentionally) kills himself, then certainly he will be punished in the Fire of Hell, wherein he shall dwell forever)), [Bukhaaree (5778) and Muslim (109 and 110)].

Thou shalt not murder.
I know it says kill, but the true definition is murder.

Well, one of the commandments is Thou Shall Not Kill...I would assume that means yourself, too.
