I was at these two parents house the other day, and there was their kid in the front room watching mickey mouse. The mom and dad came in and said "Turn this off, we're watching the news.

When the news was on, someone said something about Saddam Hussain, the kid said, Who's Saddam Husain. The parents were horrified, but the five year old didn't understand what he'd done wrong, and asked why he should know who he was. They simply said, because he's evil and kills lots of people. They then started lecturing him, saying that he should watch more about Saddam Husain than micky mouse. I would just like to ask, how is this good? Giving a five year old knowledge of evil?

He was the one who gave the best point of the arguement, because he asked them,
"Why would I want to know about something so evil."

I can understand them wanting their kid to know current events, but come on he's just 5. Let him enjoy his innocent years while they still exist.

Evil for one reason or another is just plain facinating to people. I don't believe the saying that people are facinated with what they can't have or don't want, because there's many unpleasant things that people aren't facinated in that no one would like (dirt, grime, pestilence, illness, etc,etc,....get the picture).
