First, I'm not hateful towards Christians. If they are respectful and not pushy, I respect them. I'm not Christian, and I came to that decision after years of questioning and pondering. So, please respect that. (No trying to convert me! :D )

With that out of the way . . . I've repeatedly heard the phrase, "Judge not lest ye be judged." That may not be exactly what the Bible says, but I think it's close.

I've also repeatedly heard Christians tell others that God will "punish" them for doing this or that. For example, a woman here asked if God would punish her for having an abortion. Many answered in mean-spirited and judgmental ways including telling her she "should be punished."

Isn't that judgment? I'm not trying to be rude; I'm looking for a reason to this problem that isn't supported with Bible verses. I want a well-thought out explanation to help me understand why this happens. It will help me respect Christianity more.

Thank you for your time.

I know Goliath needed to be stoped but killing him didn't seem right. Did God not care about Goliath. I wouldn't feel loved if God wanted me to die. Goliath was a human being after all.

If before why does the Qur'an call it holy? If after then why is it the same as copies that predate Muahammed?

We all know that there are things that are obviously indecent-adult clubs, adult stores, pornography on the internet, etc. But what about other things in life? The Bible can be interpreted more than one way: 1 Timothy 2: 9-10 can be interpreted as meaning not to wear excessive jewelry and expensive clothes during worship. 1 Corinthians 12:22-25 can be interpreted with context in mind (are swimsuits wrong? How about shorts and skirts? Spaghetti-strap shirts? Cheerleader uniforms?) Just what exactly makes a movie or video game or magazine indecent if it is not an "adult " movie, game, or magazine? The Bible does not give a Ten-Commandments type list as to what exactly is modest and what isn't. I believe that God gave us freedom to judge what is decent and what isn't (How high does a skirt have to be to be indecent? 2 inches above the knee? 3 inches? 4 inches?) as long as we don't go after the extreme. Are nude statues/paintings that are classical art, are they wrong in God's eyes?

Malak Ghorbany is one of many Muslim women who have been sentenced to death for "adultery" under local Muslim law. Adultery in Iran, e.g., is defined as any intimacy outside of marriage (not always involving intercourse).

Miss Ghorbany will be stoned to death for her "crime". Rape victims are often sentenced to death. "Immodest" women and girls have been severely beaten for showing a wrist or an ankle, or for going out without a male relative, under Muslim extremists.

So in your opinion does this represent religious freedom which should be respected, or is this a violation of human rights? And how should other governments respond to this type of thing, or should we all look the other way?

More on Ghorbany, including a petition to protest her death sentence:

Looking specifically for a CHRISTIAN answer, but anyone can answer.

Why is the creation story in Genesis diffrent in two diffrent chapters?

I am a Christian, so Im not looking to disprove christianity or the Bible, but this is the ONLY Bible discrepancy that bothers me, and Im wondering about it.

I think it was Abraham, but it doesn't sound fair to me that God would do that. I wouldn't feel like God loved me if He commanded someone to sacrifice my own life.
