Hi, the beginning of Judaism started when God made Himself known to Abram a nomadic semite and promised him that He would cause Him to be the Father of a nation of believers in the one true God.Abram did not like the idol worship that was prevalent in his day and his thoughts were of a one and only God, and so God chose him and renamed him Abraham, which means Father of many.
Abraham had two sons named Isaac and Jacob and from Issac God caused the spiritual awakening of the tribe later called the Hebrews.

or, there were a number of nomatic tribes that became enslaved by the Pharoh, and as often happens, these groups came to inteact and depend on each other... then they were set free they saw themselves as new nation. The history before that is a composite of stories passed down verbally (nothing was written down in a transportable way then). All of it written much later... in the Bible and other documents.
