I am a Christian, and I think that the American culture has made Christmas into a secular holiday. I'm not upset about that, mind you. I'm not trying to smuggle the celebration back into the "Christian Camp". I try to celebrate in a way that I think is respectful, and I think everyone should enjoy the holiday in any peaceful way they find meaningful to them. Jewish faithful have been known to celebrate as well, since there are many elements of the holiday that were not born in Christian tradition. Atheists are welcome to as well, in my opinion.

It's Atheists. That's the second time I've seen this spelled incorrectly on this board today.
Someone that celebrates Christmas chooses what way that want to. Being that Christmas was originally a pagan holiday that was converted by the church, I don't really care who is worshipping it. I am more concerned about what I am doing.
Besides, the day that Christians stop celebrating Halloween which is the Pagan High Holy Day is the day I start being mad about someone else celebrating a Christian holiday.

I am not a christian but I think they have the right to celebrate christmas just like others ,They actually celebrate new year and maybe they believe that it's the day that Jesus was born but they still don't believe that there is a God and jesus is the son of God!

what percent of the Christmas Holiday do you think "Christians" actually spend on Christ? Tell me that the malls aren't amass with Christians and holy roller church fanatics who spend more time preaching to others why they (the other people) aren't good enough, than they do trying to make themselves more "christian"
Give me a break...attending a few extra church services, baking a cake for baby jesus' birthday, displaying a Limoge or Waterford nativity scene, donating to a needy family do not make a Christian.

The holiday season is not based around Christianity. Can you at least get down basic history please. The holiday goes back to before Christianity was formed. The Christians named it Christmas, that is fine, but you do not now own the season. Quite on the contrary actually.

Seems a big pointless, but whatever they want to do is fine with me. Christmas is leaning more toward the secular, I suppose. Hilarious and here I was thinking that I would never use that word. C'est la vie.

They wouldn't be Atheists if they were celebrating "CHRISTmas". But, I'm sure they get and give gifts as good as we Christians.

like it should matter. they don't own the holiday. besides, even the symbolism they use -- xmas tree, lights on the house, santa claus -- all of it is pagan symbolism!!
given all the xians who work on the sabbath, commit adultery and premarital sex, steal, etc, etc, etc, etc... they hardly have a leg to stand on, since they ignore their own ridiculous tenets regularly and often!!!
