very wise question.
very well put.....
but let's even go even a little bit further.....
why would you choose follow the rules of other men whose intentions are still not clear?
or does anybody really think their principal interest was to make us all believe in their strange god ?
no way!
they just wanted to gain control over people by inventing and forcing a religion with an evil god and an evil devil.
let's not forget the bible was written (or put together) in times, and by an emperor who wanted complete power over popullation.
(and on top of it, he always remained a pagan!)
(so, not even him believed in what he wrote in concordance with these other men).

but....i am sure you will get plenty of anwers saying that the bible was written by some god, blah, blah, blah...

so for them, let's rephrase the question :
Why Would You Choose To Live Your Lives By The Bloody , Sick, And Conctradictory Rules Your God Wrote ?

I suppose the laws of the nation that you abide by are not rules of other men? There would be total chaos without rules. I believe the Bible to be God's word. It has lasted this long because it can't be disproved.

Merry Christmas.

If you want to debate whether these men were divinely inspired, thats a different story. But as far as "living by the rules" goes. Be thankful, if no one lived by rules given by man, we wouldnt last a week.

It has a lot to do with my own study and prayer and feelings about what life I want to follow, and it turns out they're pretty similar to what those "other men" are saying.

I live my life by discovering the truth for myself. I find the Bible to be truth. From under what rock do you find your truth?

the founding fathers of this nation(the United States) also thought that they were acting in God's will when they penned the"Constitution" and we (most of us) will quote and defend it vigorously.
