I answered a question earlier today in a very honest and forthright manner by someone who is obviously obese and now claims he is PROUD of that fact. I got 6 thumbs down while everyone who was telling him "BRAVO!" "Good for you to have a positive body image" is getting all thumbs up. Am I the only one who realizes the very real dangers and consequences of being obese? Why should I jump on the politically correct bandwagon & say, "Oh, that's ok. Go ahead and kill yourself with food." Would that make me a better person?

Here is the link:

Do you think what I said was incorrect or mean?

Are we really so dumb now as a society to think this obesity epidemic is OK?

I think people who are not poetic and can only see as far as the end of their nose are the ones who naysay everything a person sees or says that has to do with the beauty of God. Have you noticed that?

If a girl was sexually abused (by one of her bro's, by the way he passed away when she was 11, and she got abused in her adolescence by her nephew, he's 1 year older than she. ) , since she had 5 until she had 17, she never told are parents or her family, is it possible she's sexually confused or she's a lesbian? Cause she doesn't like to date guys, but she doesn't date girls.

I see this question so often. I usually answer by saying that it's not true, which really, it isn't because I don't hate Christians. But, let me ask you Christians a question that might aid you in solving this problem. Why do so many Christians preach hell and damnation instead of love and forgiveness? If I wanted to convert people, this is surely what I would use. Telling everyone they are going to hell, and pointing out other people's sin while blinded by your own isn't a very good tactic. Am I wrong?

since liberals hate any American and/or Christian tradition (not to mention WalMart), do i have to buy gifts for any liberals i know at Christmas (or Xmas, Sparkle Season, the Holidays, or whatever they call it so as to not offend any atheists, muslims, communists or child molesters)?

and if i do have to buy for them, what is an appropriate, non-offense secular gift for them?

Is there a nice way to out right ask someone to move? A family member (single, and making 75k or more a year) is living rent free in a house and won't get the hint from his parents that another family needs to use the house (family of four, dealing with a bit of finacial problems/military disability). He is bragging about getting ready to buy a huge tv and surround system (6k-cash) and this other family can't even put food on the table. Parents have hinted to move out and so has family. The guy is trashing the place, and not keeping the long standing tradition of the house, improve, fix, and renew. (The house belonged to the great grandfather who has passed)

Any suggestions as to how to ask this guy to leave without making him mad, and still make him see that he would be helping a family get back on their feet. Without being tacky.

Reposted for lack of good response from scripture. Please offer God's Word to support opinion.

Well, BDSM and D/s is explained from a secular viewpoint on porn sites. But recently I ran across a group for this on Yahoo and websites about Christians who practice this as a lifestyle. For those who know about this type of lifestyle, do you think it is or can be compatible with Christianity? Why or why not? Please feel free to use scriptures to support our views.

No one has given any scripture. Yes, I am interested in the concept, at least as far as the man being head of the home and responsible to take care of a woman. On the other hand, that can be carried too far. But has feminism taken us too far in the other direction?

Some one mentioned the use of pain, but there are many philosophies on the sexual and physical side of this that are all encompassed in BDSM .... at least from what I have read on the subject. Most are not sadistic.

IMy coworker keeps playing Christmas music loud. She's been warned not to (and I personally know if they have to warn her again, she will get a formal write up.)

I would let it slide and not care, but today she said to me " do you enjoy my music?" knowing good and well I don't celebrate christmas.

So, should i report her?

If Jesus is believed to be GOD because he could do miracles, he could heal leprosy, he could cause blind men to see, or raise the dead, then what about the others who performed the same miracles?

Elisha and Elijah fed a hundred people with twenty barley loaves and a few ears of corn (2 Kings 4:44).

Elisha told Naaman, who was a leper, to wash in the river Jordan (2 Kings 5:14) and he was healed. Elisha caused a blind man to see in (2 Kings 6:17,20).

Elijah and Elisha raised the dead in (1 Kings 17:22, and 2 Kings 4:34). Even Elisha's dead bones restored a dead body in (2 Kings 13:21).

Indeed Jesus had prophesied that people will worship him uselessly and will believe in doctrines not made by GOD but by men "But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. (Matthew 15:9)"

So this story has happened to me once 4 years ago (I mean like this) and now I see it goes to be

the same so I need your advice. I fall in love with a guy but then I love him so hard or maybe

that's not love at all just the desire to love him because I like some of his features. So this

time I've fallen in love with a guy on-line. He lives in another country. When we've talked for

the first time he was so fascinated by me! He invited me to spend summer in his country for

serious and all the time called me dear and all the other sweet words. But I didn't think he was

serious and didn't like him that much so quickly! But then I started to like him more and more

with each day and as I liked him more and more he seemed to start paying less and less attention

to me. We also called each othe by microphone. So at first everything was wonderful and he

always kissed me in the end, I was even surprised at first. But then I started to kiss him to

and he stopped doing this. As I was falling in love more and more I wanted to chat with him more

and more + I had to tell him very many things. And he seemed to pay less attention to me. Then

he started to tell me "I am studying, sorry I can't speak, I want to study not talk to you"

almost every time I entered. And yesterday he has even gone offline when I entered. I understand

he has exams now but I have exams too and still can find time for him! These days we've chatted

a bit but he doesn't tell me any gentle words any more. And today I asked him very very much to

talk by microphone and we talked, this was just like exchanging information because there were a

lot of information to exchange, but later I asked him why he has changed so much since the

beginning and he told me he doesn't know, he just writes what he wants, if he feels so he writes

this, and told me "let it go". He doesn't talk about spending summer any more... I asked him if

he still likes me and he told "yes" but I'm not sure how it sounded... And what was 4 years ago

and how it has ended. I've fallen in love with a guy when he was singing on the concert. The

next day I've bought a book on the mind power and how to acheeve what we want. I've done

everything like it was in this book and made it so that me and that guy got to know each other

"accidentaly" in the bus. He was the same fascinated by me. We went for a walk immediately and

walked for 8 hourse!!! We couldn't stop (for comparing when we first chatted with the guy I like

these days we chatted for 5 hours what is all long!). And then it was the New Year and we've

spent it together and then the next day he has asked me if we can marry very soon (we were only

17 then!) I was surprised but happy! But then the same situation only with another thing. He

lives really far from me and I wanted him to take me home after I was at his house because it

was late and I was afraid to go by myself, he didn't but I asked him a lot and he did. And also

there were times when I asked him to spend more time with me when he already wanted to go (and

the same it is now when I ask the new guy to spend more time chatting or not to stop talking by

microphone). And then that first boy has broken up with me telling me he's not ready for such

serious relationships and also he told me he couldn't stand that I asked him to stay more when

he wanted to go. This new one has not told me this yet... Maybe I can still do something. It's

repeating for the second time! I must have learnt from my previous experience! I don't want this

to happen again! What can I do if I can do something? Or maybe not doing anything is the best?

Why do they react so greatly on me in the beginning and then they change like this? I guess if I

attrackt them in the beginning I can learn how to continue this. And am I right that if they

liked me really they wouldn't mind to talk more and stay more as I asked or am I wrong? Help me

with your advice please! It will be very appreciated!!!
Thank you,
Maria

PS: I've had some more boys after the first one but the situation was different.

If Jesus was GOD, then why in Mark 12:29 Jesus said "Here, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord." The words "our God" indicate that Jesus had a higher God over him, a stronger God than him. Jesus didn't say "Your God". He said "our God" which includes Jesus as the creation of GOD.

If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 20:17 Jesus said I ascend to my God and your God? This tells us that we and Jesus have a common GOD.

If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 8:28 Jesus said "I do nothing of myself"? Can't GOD do anything he wills?

If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 14:28 Jesus said "My Father (GOD) is greater than I"?

If Jesus was GOD, then why in Luke 23:46 Jesus said "Father (GOD), into thy hands I commend my spirit"?

If Jesus was GOD, then why in Matthew 19:16 Jesus said "Why call me good, there is none good but One, that is GOD"?

If Jesus was GOD, then why in Matthew 26:39 Jesus fell on his face and prayed to his GOD?

If Jesus was GOD, then why did he pray to his GOD in Luke 5:16?
