I think people who are not poetic and can only see as far as the end of their nose are the ones who naysay everything a person sees or says that has to do with the beauty of God. Have you noticed that?

Science and nature and everything IS from God so why do you say that?

I agree Midge and a little humility would help too.

good one, silverbirch. love it. :-) i'd like someone to try and answer that question intelligently. good luck!

Madge, I disagree with your premise. I'm not poetic but I am an art historian. I'm not religious but I love religious imagery in art. So, I guess you could say I have an artistic mindset, see the beauty of "salvation history", but still an not Christian. How does that fit with your version of the world?

There are other things in life that are beautiful, too, besides your alleged God and salvation history. Maybe you are the one who needs to look past their nose at the rest of life and how beautiful science and nature and spirituality can be. Seems like you are pretty fixated on what you think is right and pleasing... You shouldn't throw stones from glass houses, my dear.

Well that belief is easy to put to rest.

I was born, and have always been, very artistic. It is a huge part of who I am. Along with crafts, computer related design, I even also enjoy creative writing. Very much a dreamer.

And an atheist.

I can see your point but i disagree because i know some people who have no concept of art but do know the beauty of God. I think it all depends on how God has touched your life. If God has truly changed your life then you will know His beauty.

I enjoy poetry very much. That has nothing to do with any gods. None exist.

Christians are grossly arrogant in that they try to force everyone to somehow have a tie - desired or not - to their religion. It's a very infantile state of mind.

No. You need the Holy Spirit. That's why so many can't see.

Is this a different tact on "turn your back on science and wisdom because my myth beliefs do not bear close scrutiny"?
