The tendency to develope and retain accents really depends upon the audible recognition and repetition of the mind's process. Many people are able (sometimes unwillingly) to "mimic" the sound and vowel comparison patterns presented by different dialects when used in the same language. If you do happen to attain a Yorkshirish accent, you would probably be just as susceptible at attaining any accent used in the spoken English language (including almost any American accent, Canadian, or Austrailian accent).

The question I have is: Do you want to develope one of those funny British accents? =)

it would depend on how long you live in england.

plus when someone gets a certian age they are less likely to pick up new accents as easy as they did as a kid.

I'm not sure if 16 old enough to be in that age range though

Maybe you will develop your own unique way of speaking due to the various places you have lived and/or will live.

I love British accents though! Very cool

it's quite possible that you'll develop and accent if you stay there long enough. I think it's the brains way of trying to help us fit into our surroundings. :)=
