Spontaneous generation has never ever been known to happen. Intelligent scientists have never been able to make it happen. Yet, some so easily believe that given enough time that nonliving matter could somehow begin to live.

I am the youngest of 12 people working in a child care center. I probably work the most hours out of anyone, because I feel guilty saying no, when someone asks me to cover a shift. But now I need someone to cover my shift tomorrow night. So I called all the other employees, I was able to get a hold of 6, they all said that they "think they are coming down with something." Am I crazy, or is this really not an acceptable excuse, yes this is cold season, and it is inevitable, everyone will get sick, but it is one thing when you are sick, and when you just "think" you are getting sick. Now I cant get anyone to cover my shift, after the dozens of shifts I've picked up for them. I just dont think that it is fair, or a good excuse, especially when 5 other people are using it. What do you "think"?

I have trouble with a neighbor in a rural community -he hates my husband and I for many reasons, all of them stupid, (we leave a porch light on at night, wash the car, had the driveway paved, pick up others garbage when the garbage men scatter it, etc) we are Jewish and Greek Orthodox-and afraid to show it. What would you do? Neighbor is loud and abusive and cops cant do anything for all our other problems with him, and he has already screamed at us that we should act like we live in a trailer and not a mansion. We believe in bettering our lives and we are quite proud of what we can accomplish in most things we set our minds to, but this guy is so close to the edge with us now, we are afraid to show how we celebrate anything. He is a very unhappy man, he has no job, he has been trying to sell his house and land for 3 years and hardly anyone has come by, and we cant move yet, we have been here 3 months. We need to finish some remodeling before we could even rent to someone else.

My girlfriend and I have been dating about 7 months. We go to different colleges, but we decided it was worth sticking together because we have such a good relationship! Anyways, the holidays are coming up, (so happy holidays everyone!), and Im not sure what to get her. I bought her a very expensive necklace before she left for school, and we both agreed not to go too extravogently on christmas gifts, but I still really want to give her something special. She means a lot to me and sometimes I feel like I'm running out of good ways to tell her. So what should I get her? I just started at this company and they do a variation of the secret santa game. The name of the gift must match the name of the person. I drew Jessica S. So the gift must have a J and S in it. (ex. Jake Brown --> Jelly Beans). Any ideas?
