My grandfather asked me this when I was about 8....

sadly he passed before I got an answer....

Can anyone help?

PART 1
Do you believe in god?

(my answer was yes)

PART 2

Do you believe he can do all things?

(my answer was yes)

PART 3
Then can God create a rock so big even he can't move it?

I was unsure and upset, he said he would answer when I was older. I am pretty sure I know it, I just thought I would throuw it out there......

I was just thinking maybe someone knows where it came from... anything???

I'm in the process of converting to Roman Catholicism, and a thought came to me. Roman Catholic doctrine states that the Pope is infallible in all matters of faith and morals. How do I justify this doctrine with statements made by previous Popes which promoted anti-Semitism and violence towards Jews?

My uncle and aunt are divorced and have been for 15+ years. My cousin never spoke to my uncle since the divorce. She lives far north and I and my family live in the deep south.

I'm from my uncle's family. Though my cousin won't commuicate with her father, she frequently calls my grandmother and me and tells us that she loves us. But recently she got married and didn't even tell us. She called after she returned from her honeymoon to inform us. When asked why we weren't invited, she replied that she didn't want to upset her mother (who, i'm assuming, doesn't like us).

But this hurt my grandmother's feelings. Couldn't she at least send us an invatation? Chances are we wouldn't have been able to go (distance) but it would have been nice to get one, just to know that she thought about us. And isn't it her wedding? She should be free to choose who to invite.

Lastly, is there a proper way to inform someone about your wedding, but not really invite them? Did she do the right thing

I ask this question because, after all, I sincerely suck at communicating with other people. My tongue freezes, my palm sweats, and I'm terrified out of my mind. Frankly, I could use all the suggestions I can get. Thanks in advance. =)

If your atheist, you almost certainly have more appreciation for human life, because you essentially recognize nothing else to be greater.

Im Agnostic and see it the same. Human life is so precious...I now see it...its all we have!

I wish human life never had to conflict with a womans ability to control every part of their body all the time. I really do. However, because human life is so precious, I just cant see why we arbitraliy chose to one spot along the human growth continum to be so magical and spirtual. Pro-choicers are like religious wackos to me.

I dont see why a fetus has less significance as a human. In fact, any attempt to give a larger human more significance, as a matter of law, just seems like religious babble to me.

"Ahh, a human fetus aint special enough yet". That so, ok, tell me what religious ritual must we perform to make it special or viable?

This isn't up for deabte, this is FACT. So why would God wait thousands of years before sending his only son to Earth to create Christianity? If it is the "one true religion", then what about all of those people that came before the time of Christ? Are they just SOL for living at a time when Christianity didn't exist?
I'm asking because I am sick and tired of people saying "the only way to get heaven is to accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior". So, about all of these MILLIONS of humans that came before Jesus, they just end up in pergatory forever? Seems kind of ridiculous to me!
