Well I usually don't sleep at all that night...seriously......We stay at my Dad's house that night. I wake up my husband, sister, brother, stepmum at 5.00am. Wait about 2 more hours before anyone actually gets OUT of bed. We all sit around the Xmas tree and exchange gifs one at a time. Then we get ready for my Nan, Aunty and cousins to come over at about 11.00am. We have lunch and sit around the tree again, and exchange more presents. This year I have a daughter to celebrate with as well so I am looking very forward to seeing her open all her presents. I LOVE giving presents to my family. After that we all choose a board game and play. Usually its a new game that someone got as a gift. Then we just sit around and enjoy each others company and talk and laugh. then its time for bed!

I celebrate Christmas by going to midnight mass, then when I get home I have a reveillon meal. Once the meal is over with I place a couple of logs in the fireplace before going to sleep. I also make sure to leave the Christmas lights on througout the night and day.
When I wake up I put more wood in the fireplace as we keep it going for the rest of the day. We tend to have a very large breakfast. Depending on the arrangements for the year's Christmas, we either open our presents in the morning or in the afternoon.
We also have an arrangement for our dinner, depending on everyone's plans, we'll either have our dinner at home on Christmas day or the following day.
The day itself is pretty much casual as we stay at home, we drink hot cocoa, listen to Christmas music, watch Christmas movies and fiddle with whatever gifts we received.
Last but not least, we call relatives to wish them a quick Merry Christmas.

Our entire family celebrates Christmas on Christmas Eve, so Christmas Day is just for me and my 2 boys (I'm divorced). We open our gifts around 10:00 that morning, have a nice lunch around 2:00 and then relax for the rest of the day. We usually talk about how we are going to spend the rest of the holidays. We just enjoy each others company. We look so forward to that day, because we are so comfortable, staying in our robes all day and just having fun. Sometimes, we play cards and the boys are always playing video games (which I enjoy watching only!). There are very few days of the year that allow all of us to just relax and enjoy everything about each other and yet do nothing! Merry Christmas to everyone and may you all have peace, joy and love in your hearts!

I usually get up somewhere betwwen 7-7:30 a.m. and start cooking. then I get all the food & presents ready to go to my mothers. Then about 2-3 we leave to go. All my family will eat and then we exchange gifts. Then we sit around and talk for awhile and take lots of pictures. My father is deceased. and my husbands mother and father are both deceased. But we all have a real good time and enjoy the day. Oh yea if it has snowned then we all play in the snow. its not x-mas without snow. Happy Holidays.

Well, for the fifth year in a row, I'll be working. I'm a hospital nurse, and holidays have to be staffed just like any other day. So, I'll celebrate with processed turkey breast and instant mashed potatoes. - But, this year I'm working for another nurse so she can be home with her kids to open gifts in the morning - so, it's all good.

We (my fiance and I) typically get up around 9, plug in the tree lights and open each other's gifts. Afterwards, we'll make a few phone calls, scramble some eggs, crawl back into bed and pop in a movie. Later in the day we'll go visit his family. (My family gathers early since we all live in different parts of the country). All in all it's pretty sweet.

We dress up nice and go to my in-laws in the morning and unwrap gifts, then in the evening we go to my grandmother's and have dinner and unwrap more gifts. Then spend several hours playing with the gag gifts. Two years ago everyone got marshmallow blow guns. (Guns made from pvc pipe and marshmallows are the ammo that you shoot out one end by blowing into the other.) My grandmother complained that she found marshmallows for weeks after Christmas.

I wake up early and sit around waiting for everyone else to wake up unless I feel like waking them up. The family (mom, dad, two sisters, brother, two nieces, nephew and my boyfriend or anyone elses boyfriend/girlfriend) we eat a nice big breakfast and play Christmas music. Then we open gifts!

I celebrate it like the usual average old Joe. Open my stuff in the morning, and think about my friends.
