Frankly I wouldnt be scared of aliens who can reach us because they would be very advanced to be able to reach earth and when societies are advanced they dont conquer lands anymore they concentrate on new inventions

Well that wouldn't matter if they reached us they're technology will be eons ahead of us that we're like bacteria to them in intelligence.

Don't think we have anything to fear from Aliens. If they're intelligent enough to get here, then they'd probably just see us as ants...

Oh wait.... guess that means we better look out for gigantic magnifying glasses. So maybe we should be afraid.

Seriously though, how do we know how advanced societies act? We aren't one really, and me, never seen one. We're just hypothosizing they wouldn't. Maybe even hoping. What if we're wrong. And the whole reason they're exploring is because of over population on their planet and they're looking for new turf.

If they see us as primitive, they'd have no compuction taken over our world. Just like we're edging our species out of their habitats. We don't see those species are important as ours. If they die off.....oh well.

Maybe aliens would see us the same way. Hope not, butcha never know.

unless they are here because their planet has become uninhabitable and has threatened to destroy their civilization because the drive for technical advancement has destroyed their planets natural balance. so they will have to populate another planet... now being an advanced being, they come across out planet and see that we primitive beings are here just trying to get our space station to out maneuver the floating garbage that we have polluted the space with out destroying ourselves, and the fact that as a whole the human species are as phucked up as any species could be...they decide that they coul destroy us and eat our brains....i am having a really hard time writing this stuff....

a friend of mine actually thinks that aliens are us coming back in time to see if they can change or fix the future....he has since been on methadone for a few months...but i think he had something there....

OK i think i have earned my two points..

thanks

It's "fear of the unknown" that gets the best of us, as a society with a wild imagination on what we define "aliens" to be.
Sure, we see on the media, just how brutal and chaotic our world is, with the violence, gruesome details of abuse, murders, etc, but, when we think of 'aliens', we think "alien abduction, pain with probing, human embryo stealing - by aliens, and being disintergrated by alien weaponry!!"
Who knows, we may very well be in the company of aliens, here on Earth, and not know it, until the time is right, and they come shooting up from underground, and with their tripod-like machines, zap us, leaving our clothes behind, and sucking all our innards and using that to fertilize the grounds they call 'home', which is our planet!!....
...Oh wait...didn't I see that on a movie, once??....

It is not aliens from other planets that is scary in its self. It is more like the Europeans bringing new diseases to the Americas and other places that have no immunity to those diseases that killed off a large portion of the native population that is scary.

Well, the aliens would probably consider themselves higher beings when compared to us, just like we consider ourselves above animals. Hence why we grow them so we can harvest them to eat, produce clothing, etc.

They'd probably do the same kind of stuff to us, and we'd likely be about as effective as a turkey on thanksgiving if we tried to stop them.

When societies are advanced they don't conquer lands any more? Really? Name one.

what if they need resources, or see us as primitive to the point that we are merely animals to them...

personally if i were that advanced, the only reason i would attempt to touch on this species would be to use them for a goal...and that goal would suit my race, not this other world...self preservation, etc...

There is nothing more dangerous known to humankind than humans themselves.
