For example, if you say, "The dog is old. We should have him killed" people wouldn't respond well. So you call it having him "Put to sleep" or "euthanized".

Right now the the soldiers are in the middle of "sectarian violence". Call it a "civil war" and people look at it differently. When it comes to the abortion debate, you got two "pros". You got pro-choice and you got pro-life. The people that oppose the pro-life don't wanna be called "anti-choice" which they really are, because it sounds like they're trying to restrict freedom, which they are. It also implies that those that oppose them are "anti-life" and when you put it that way, no one wants to be associated with that.

You take a suspected terrorist and put him through some "alternative interrogation" and we can deal with it, as long as you don't call the same practices "torture," we're good.

For instance in a show called 'Dead like Me' the actress that protrays the police officer 'Whitly' formerly of an '80's sitcom whom I don't remember the show ..addressed the other actress as a 'cracker'. The actress was ordering food and she said she does not have enough money for food so all she can eat are crackers and cheese, thereby the other actress said, yes a 'cracker' as yourself. Using the stereotypical term for 'white' people?? So why is it acceptable for blacks to using a negative term and if we were to use a term that is describing their race it becomes a whole other issue.

combine the bible and quran, and become one religion, we both believe in jesus and god, or allah, and we can combine holidays and traditions and call god Allahgod, I like thats actually my word, until we combine that's what I'm calling Yeweh, but seriously, both religions undermine women and are homophobs the pope and the muslim leader have a lot to get along with, and i can accept muhammed as a prophet he made alot of good points.

When Christianity is criticized, the questioner will get a response calling the questioner ignorant or stupid but when a criticism is placed at Islam the questioner is accused of hate and intolerance?

For the record when I criticize something I expect to be told that I do not understand and my intelligence is to be questioned, because this is a passionate debate.

Also it is my impression that the attacks of “intolerance” are made mostly by non-Muslims. Is my impression right or wrong?

By the way most answers are not like this, but I have noticed a difference in the tone.

Usually, I on't care. But I saw a question a few minutes ago that really pissed me off. He was nagging about how it's wrong to be gay. I hate people who just can't stop being stereotypical and so narrow-minded! What do you guys honesty think? I personally think that if it really mattered who was in love with who, which apparently it does, that everyone would be nicer and not so stupid. My step-dad is like that against other religons and I hate him and yell at him for being so closed-minded.

The people are bullied into liking it, "Love it or leave it" and "If you don't like it than leave, you wont be missed" and crap like this. I mean here people say, we dont mind if you dont like Ireland, we're not gonna bully you out, you have every right to hate your contry and its none of our business, but some americans are bullied with all this "Love it or leave it" crap, if america is free, than they should have every right to hate america and be accepted!

How would someone defend the right of same-sex marriage to someone whose closed-minded and only says, "God said a man should not lay with a man, and a woman should not lay with a woman!!"?

Thanks for the insight.

If you're not interested in sex, and not exactly comfortable with it, can you still maintain a good relationship with a person without always having to have sex? I've always wondered this and am somewhat scared I won't ever have a good relationship with a person because most people revolve it around sex
