Every branch that does bears fruit [God] prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. John 15:2

Cutting away the unproductive parts of your lives- materialism, worldliness, cynicism- may be painful, but it is the way to produce the bountitful fruit of the Holy Spirit.

I find many muslim women who think they need to take their headscarfs off just so they can get an education.but i think that muslim women need to remove the veil from their minds.because you can no hijab on at all and still be ignorant and close minded.

This is a serious question and I'll try and phrase as inoffensively as I can but I'm sorry if it offends anyone!
Mary was unmarried right? I know how she knew she was carrying the Son of God, but how did others know? I mean surely and un-wed pregnant woman was not really allowed in those days so did people think she was lying at first or did they 'know' she was carrying someone special?
Its something my hubby jokes about a lot and I would really like to know the answer, how did people know she really was the Virign Mother?
I mean if it happened in this day and age NOONE would believe a pregnant woman was still a virgin.

I hope that makes sense and isnt too offensive, sorry if it is.

Thanks for any serious answers

The following view was expressed in the Asian Voice, 11th November 2006, by Mr Manzoor Moghul, Chairman, Muslim Forum, Leicestershire, UK.

Significant parts only reproduced here.

"However.....when the veil becomes an obstacle in the interaction between those women wearing it and the rest of our society, especially in terms of when identification causes social, cultural and political difficulties, those practising it should have enough flexibility in adapting themselves to the practical needs of the society in which they live...............
.........................................It is time that the Muslim community began to mature and instead of hiding behind sentiments of hurt and offence, they should have the belief that they are able to argue their corner convincingly and with confidence"

(These views are of Mr Manzoor Moghul, Chairman, Muslim Forum, Leicestershire, UK)

Is this view, by a Muslim, unlike some, not entirely moderate and fair?

I'm sure that Fairbanks is a nice little town, but why would people want to live under such harsh conditions if they don't to? I mean as I write this, it's -25 below zero right now!

I just don't understand why anyone would want to put themselves through that when there are plenty of places to live in the Midwest.

when i was young we use to spend christmas at my nans and they were the best times for me. I use to always wake first and there'd b a sack of gifts and a stocking waiting at end of bed for me i use to drag the sack and stocking to where my sis was sleeping and wake her so we'd sit in the bed together unwrapping pressies and eating the goodies from our stockings . Then when it was time to get up we'd run down and see the tree and all the mountains of gifts under it we'd be so excited then it would b games till christams dinner then after dinner and everthing was washed up and dried we would all gather in the lounge for our pressies it would b about 2-30pm to 3 by now so the excitement was overwhelming but the day was fab !! im married now and i still wait to open my gifts as does my sister, christmas is my fav time of yr and i count down from 1st of dec and its the fun, excitment and the togetherness as a family that keeps it so special for me and makes me feel a kid again.

I just read a question (or rather a rant) posted earlier about how Christ is being removed from Christmas. Her basis for this was she had heard 'Oh Tannenbaum' instead of 'Oh Christmas Tree' and had seen cards that read 'Yuletide Greetings'. I seriously hope she was joking. Cards that read Yuletide Greetings have been around for as long as I can remember and Oh Tannenbaum is the original German version of the song. Besides what do Christmas trees have to do with Christ its a tradition brought to the UK (at least) from Germany (hence the song originally being in German).
Then there are Christians around who dont realise Christmas was originally (still is) the Pagan festival of Yule. I know a lot of Christians do know this but there are some who dont, how can some people be so clueless about the foundations of their own religion?

Please dont take offence, I know a lot more people do know the basis of their religion than those who dont.

don't get me wrong, I'd laff if she was old enuff to get pregnant and still claimed to be a virgin in America. But then I don't claim to be saving the world by slaughtering the unjust. So how would you "Christians" react?

Long lines for visas, exagerated travel restrictions and rude/aggressive inmigration agents are making travelers to think twice when deciding vacations in the US. I live currently in Europe my friends (for instance) are considering going to Cuba or Mexico instead the US for vacations, they blame us (americans) for all this mess in airports and customs. Sometimes I don´t know what to say because I also think some measures are exagerated.

koran, bible says it all. women in those cultures were treated no different than objects. so they were made to cover and remain that way till a man possed them.

thats why jesus changed the laws to liberate all people and rejected the laws of the old testament right.

why do muslims still hold onto the stupid cruel laws of the old testament?

Okay so when we die, ive been told that out spirit (which is basically us, we go out of our body) pass over to the other world...
so basically we are still here but nobody can see us, unless they try to contact us or wateva. And aparently we see a light when we die and we can either go to the light or not. If we dont we stay here. If we do we go to heaven or wateva?
Aparantly spirits dont always go to the light at first cos they have unfinished business.

Do Kabbalists believe in all this?
