Long lines for visas, exagerated travel restrictions and rude/aggressive inmigration agents are making travelers to think twice when deciding vacations in the US. I live currently in Europe my friends (for instance) are considering going to Cuba or Mexico instead the US for vacations, they blame us (americans) for all this mess in airports and customs. Sometimes I don´t know what to say because I also think some measures are exagerated.

It isn't only people in other countries that are nervous about traveling to/within the US. I'm an American (my family has lived here since colonial times) and I'm afraid to get on an airplane nowadays. No, I'm not scared of being blown to kingdom come. I can handle a threat to my life just fine. I'm scared of the officials here in my country making a big deal over nothing. They're just looking for an excuse to strip-search, arrest or shoot anyone. I can at least attempt to defend myself against a terrorist with a box cutter. Sadly, the same cannot be said for corrupt officals hiding behind biased laws.

I am actually a little scared to go back to America. Especially after Habeus Corpus was abolished by the Bush administration. Now I can be locked up without the right for a Lawyer to defend me. I can be locked up for years like those at Guantanamo just for looking sideways at a customs officer upon arrival in America.

I must mention I have dark hair and a darkish complexion so a
I am more at risk.

Now you might think I'm stupid to say all this but these are just my honest thoughts.

america doesn't depend on foreigners for tourism revenues as much as it depends on locals, so if your crowd has no patience for minor difficulties while traveling to the freedom of American society, go get herded. By that I mean in most countries there are places you don't want to go or can't go and are herded around those areas.
