I am looking for some practical means of differenciating the American people from the American government in the world scene. I, as most real Americans, am tired of being treated like I want to go slaughter the muslims and steal their oil or that I give a crap wether or not the rest of the world eats or starves. But how do we Americans convince the world that the American government does not in any way represent the American people.

I spoke with her in a chat room and she is searching for God and now it's been a while since I've had the priviledge to minister to her of Gods goodness. Yes she is financially blessed and no she doesn't have to give up her wealth but her heart is what God wants. The Lord has her in his hands as she is an heir of his salvation. All of us are in need of the Love of God and are drawn by His spirit at the appointed time he has. Paris Hilton is a loving careing woman that is lost and is in need of the love of God in her life as do we all. She knows she is not living right because God is letting her know this. What gives us the right to judge ? We can.t or shouldn't that's Gods job not ours. If it's such a great concern then why aren't we as believers praying for her ? Why aren't we loving her as we love ourselves ? hmmm Perhaps we are as. As perhaps we don't love ourselves or forgive ourselves so we hold it against one another or come quick to judge. Isnt it a shame ? Just for thought.

This problem has grown to epidemic proportions. My son's can't go to school without someone demanding they carry something for them and they have to dress in certain ways or they get targetted. The school staff have been told but it's like the concern is falling on deaf ears. They've actually denied having any significant problems in the school. Guns and drugs are everywhere in the schools - what can be done?

I am a christian. I am not a catholic so my ancestors were not murderers or dictators. I only believe in Jesus the Holy Spirit and God. No holy mother of Jesus.
Why do people that don't believe in any religion try to persuade us and try to make fun of us. Go your own way and burn if you want to. It sadens me that so many souls will burn but it is the price to pay.Come on it is so unbelieveable that there is a being greater than us?

When the Pilgrims came to Plymouth Rock, they were poor and hungry -- half of them died within a few months from disease and hunger. When Squanto, a Wampanoag man, found them, they were in a pitiful state. He spoke English, having traveled to Europe, and took pity on them. Their English crops had failed. The native people fed them through the winter and taught them how to grow their food.

These were not merely "friendly Indians." They had already experienced European slave traders raiding their villages for a hundred years or so, and they were wary -- but it was their way to give freely to those who had nothing. Among many of our peoples, showing that you can give without holding back is the way to earn respect. Among the Dakota, my father's people, they say, when asked to give, "Are we not Dakota and alive?" It was believed that by giving there would be enough for all -- the exact opposite of the system we live in now, which is based on selling, not giving.
To the Pilgrims, and most English and European peoples, the Wampanoags were heathens, and of the Devil. They saw Squanto not as an equal but as an instrument of their God to help his chosen people, themselves.

Since that initial sharing, Native American food has spread around the world. Nearly 70 percent of all crops grown today were originally cultivated by Native American peoples. I sometimes wonder what they ate in Europe before they met us. Spaghetti without tomatoes? Meat and potatoes without potatoes? And at the "first Thanksgiving" the Wampanoags provided most of the food -- and signed a treaty granting Pilgrims the right to the land at Plymouth, the real reason for the first Thanksgiving.

As an atheist I believe through evidence that this will happen, I don't base my belief on faith but on the ample evidence of those who have died previously. When we die it is GAME OVER, that's precisely why we call it death.

there would be far less cases of child sexual abuse in churches?

In the JW religion, children are taught the Bible by their parents, as well as with their parents during five different meetings a week. They are not separated from the adults to learn just Bible stories, but are treated as equal to the adults in learning the Bible..

Aside from what you may or may not think of their beliefs, by teaching children in this manner, there is no opportunity for an adult to take advantage of a child. Wouldn't this be a better way for all religions to do. Having the children learn from the parents creates a closer bond between them. Teaching children, as well as teenagers, right along side their parents, shows respect for the ability of these young folks to learn.

There would not be a need to place children into a position where someone other than their parents would have any power over them, and shouldn't that be the ultimate goal, to protect the children?

Background to question......
I was talking to a work mate and found out he was quite religious and attends church weekly as a christian. I was asking if he believed if you are a non- believer that do you go to hell? He said yes. So it got me thinking... if you believe this too (if your christian or any other religion)..... surely even if you dont believe in God your whole life when you die you will realise that he does exist when your are confronted by hell or God himself and will immediately believe so therefore be transported straight to heaven?
So isnt the concept of going to hell, if you are a non believer, a paradox because if you are sent to hell you will realise that God did exist therefore negating the reason you are there?

All religious works are written by people and being people they instinctively put there own bias in. Then religions seem to seperate and get more corrupted over time by people's new biases getting tossed onto the original biased works. So how do we know our faith is founded in what it should be or what it is meant to be? "God" didn't make religion, man did to understand "God." Are we all just making "God" fit us? We all look for peace, but find hate in corruption. If one religion is right, then why so many? They are all part of "God's" work. So which one is really "God's" work? As individuals and as a species, how do we know?
