Irrespective of the position of the world modern or ancient, morality plays an important role in moulding human beings into a civilised stuff. We needn't categorise morality as part of any science, but it is there in every decent society.

We are now living in the world wherein the humanity is crossing the so-called national borders and we have started to live with people/society of so many cultures which was not the case say, a hundred years ago.

So obviously our moral science/system too has evolved and has undergone changes (For example, caste, region specific affinity are losing values, free and fair opportunities for women etc...)

Therefore it would not be appropriate to find the value of the moral science in modern world, with respect to the morality of the world say a hundred years ago. We have to accept the moral science has undergone changes and it can only be valued by time.

What the heck is "moral science"???
Science is science, It is what it is, a search for the truth.
Morality is a human concept, and varies according to belief and culture.
Everything we are and everything we know and don't know , we owe to science. So I would say, science is the most valuable tool in the world. Whether we use it the betterment of the human condition or not is up to us.
