I think that you are a Japanese, instead that you claim yourself like ' I could be Japanese ', which means you are curious about your enthicity...

I could be Japanese, but it's hard to tell.
Something about 'Michael" or ;everything black'
Tofu, what? if it's 'touhu, are?'
