Has anyone placed an Eye-need advert in Private Eye and received any cash?

It's the height of optimism isn't it? People place ads like "I need £5,000 to help complete my law degree" and then post their bank details.

I might give it a go. How about: "Needed: £100,000, no questions asked."

If, after a few months, I have received nothing, I will then post: "Okay then, £50,000 and ONE question- but nothing personal".

It is my understanding that when the adverts are placed that the Private Eye staff try to dissuade the person placing the ad from going through with it. But still many continue. Good luck to them all...
