I graduated from university in December 2004, and had been looking for professional employment from October 2004 without success. In mid-April 2005, I started wearing hijab and totally modest clothing. (I reverted to Islam in December 2004.) I started my first professional job May 11, 2005, after having interviewed WITH hijab. One of my interviewers was a (non-hijabi) Muslim woman, and she respected that I wore the hijab and persuaded the other interviewers to give me a chance with the company, though I lacked sufficient experience.

Ignorance and closed-mindedness are always barriers to humanity, but hijab is no barrier to success in this life.

When did Muslim women ask to take off their hijab in order to get education?
1- Not all Muslim women wear hijab.
2- Hijab has nothing to do with education.

I'm a pharmacist, preparing my MSc, and I wear a face cover not only a headscarf.

I have not started to wear hijab, I want to, but have not yet.
However, here in Saudi Arabia I do wear hijab for social purposes, actually I cover my face, and my cover never prevented me from work or education. I got my degree here and currently working here, and preparing for my master here in Riyadh.

I know you are Muslim, and I know you wrote it with good intentions, but you offended me really.

i agree......totally....i've seen many ppl in my skl who are muslims who just refuse to wear head scarves )and this includes teachers)even though it is completely allowed(but not compulsory).........and i feel they are being a bit arrogant bcos , here they are given the permission to do wht their religion tells thm to,whn many are deprived of this right in today's world and they simply refuse to.........their idea of existance in this world is by going completely modern and tht basically means to rip off ur hijab.........and they even gape at me(i wear the hijab to skl) as if i'm sum alien frm outer space....its as if by wearing the hijab i'm a dumb person who can't speak or think for herself......

P.s : i think a lot of people here have misunderstood the question(or is it just me?)i believe wht 'sunflower' means is tht we shd NOT remove the hijab thinking tht we'll be prevented frm doing our work properly.......tht we can still be ignorant and foolish without the hijab and tht the hijab has nothing to do with the result of our work....

AGREED! women buy into the idea that they are not beautiful unless everyone views them as physically beautiful. that kind of beauty is cheap and useless. the beauty of spirit is the only beauty worthwhile

asalamwalaikum

ps i'm on the road to a Phd and the hijab is coming with me

Islam only punishes women for sexual crimes. Why women must wear veil to avoid tempting guys ? Why not making laws to punish males that harrass any women ?

Islamic Shariah is the most double standart on women issues and also toward non muslim minorities.

No muslims can't deny these facts.

I help governments a hundred% in banning islamic face veils and basically something islamic. Islam is distant places to our lifestyle and that's a turning out to be form of antagonistic. The veil is an insult to females in spite of if some brainwashed females who elect to positioned on it do not understand that. We ought to liberated them by utilising rigidity and shop their toddlers from a manner forward for sh*tslam. If this doens't artwork we are in a position to kick them out of our international locations. we've a desirable to guard our western societies and our values and by utilising doing so we've the spectacular to enforce bans on extremist and antagonistic symbols like islamic veils. Canada and diverse of the west is SECULAR and not muslim. If those islamists elect to come back stay in our international locations and stay off of our taxes they greater valuable study to assimilate and bypass away their sick bedouin traditions at the back of. otherwise they could proceed to be of their international locations. regardless of each thing we did not beg them to come back to our international locations and we've made it sparkling that they at the instant are not welcome with their veils. we ought to consistently be enterprise in banning islam earlier its too previous due and that they take over like hitler did just about in one day. Islam is the hot naziism. We ought to all call for a ban on it. additionally i'm not an intensive white extremist or in spite of , i'm an arab lady who left islam and that i be attentive to plenty greater beneficial than some ignorant liberals and uneducated islamists who prefer to proceed to be ignorant be attentive to roughly this concern.
