I'm 15 right now, and I am taking Spanish class, and have been for 5 years. I've spoken English since I was 3, along with Khmer and Madarin. I never really thought about the rules of English all that much.

Now I'm taking Spanish, and I find the language really easy to understand. I mean like, there aren't that many complex rules as there are in English. Example, "wind" can be pronouced two different ways with two different meanings, and the "o" in "opposite" and "open" sound different. There are so many grammatical rules.

Do you think English is a wierd language, although so many people around the world speak it? Don't you think it must be hard for other people of other languages to learn English?

And please, no "No, I'm going to heaven and you're all sinners," rap please.
Anyways, do you ever just sit up at night and think about it? Especially if you're not religious like me. It's kind of unthinkable, you don't know what will happen, if we just end or if there is an Afterlife kind of like Beetlejuice, with a waiting room. OR if there is eternal suffering (which in my opinion would be unfair and irrational for a mere 80 years on earth. Eternity is a bit hard to comprehend, no?)
Does this seriously mess with anyones head at times during the day? Or can you seek comfort in not knowing?

I think my friend who is a girl likes me. I constantly feel her staring at me and when i caught her off guard, she seems to blush and act nervous. She does subtle things like rub the side of my arm or my back. I have no idea wheter she likes me or not. A couple of weeks ago, she looked deep into my eyes as if she were trying to tell me something. I brushed it off with a cute , " What are u staring at me for?" The problem is we both go to an all girls school. I am starting to have feelings for her, but I am at a loss as to what I should do. If I tell her I like her and she doen's like me in that way, it will ruin a friendship. If I say nothing, tension will just build up. Need advice....

My mom is making the traditional pumpkin and pecan pies so I kind of want to stay away from spice type cakes. I was thinking about some banana bread or even a pinapple upsidedown cake.

In the Old Testament, the Jewish people had to make sacrifices in the Temple to atone for their sins. Since they do not believe the Messiah has come, why don't they still have to have the blood to atone for their sins?

I just don't understand why some religious and non-religious people believe that evolution is not compatable with Holy Scripts.
I just don't get it. I feel the same about stem cell research and coloning. This is a free for all forum, I respect freedom of speech and have positioned myself in a learning, open minded position.
Thank You people of all beliefs and preceptions.

Josephus, a Jewish historian, wrote "The Sodomites, overweeningly proud of their numbers and the extent of their wealth, showed themselves insolent to men and impious to the Divinity, insomuch that they no more remembered the benefits that they had received from him, hated foreigners and declined all intercourse with others. Indignant at this conduct, God accordingly resolved to chastise them for their arrogance." (Josephus, Antiquities I: 194-5)

Classical Jewish texts hold that they were destroyed because the inhabitants were generally depraved and uncompromisingly greedy. Rabbinic writings affirm that the primary crimes of the Sodomites were terrible and repeated economic crimes, both against each other and to outsiders.
The midrash compilation "Pirke de Rabbi Eliezer" offers a number of reasons why the Sodomites were considered evil, but again there is no mention of homosexuality.

In the Babylonian Talmud (tractate Sanhedrin 109a) Their sins had to do with cruelty and greed.

Does a person require a deity to maintain a sense of morals? If we were to (hypothetically, of course) discover that there is no god, then how would our lives be changed in any way?

The reason I ask this is because I don't understand why some church-goers want to keep pestering me with "you need Jesus." I am perfectly healthy, both physically and mentally. I don't believe that I am dependent on any type of deity, although I do believe one exists (deistic thinker here, lol).

the answers they recieve when the oly scripture say, in the LOVE Chapter, that God's Love working through us is not easily offended or hurt ? vs. 11 says to Walk and Live as an adult, no longer as a selfish childish kid. It is time for the Real, Genuine, Born-Again Christians to answer questions AND to ask questions in a responsible way knowing that You all are suppose to representing God here on earth !!! Take no revenge on the people that - ask rediculous, or infintile questions, or those that give you answers which offend you. You should be irritated or offended in the first place if you are walking in love. Vengence is Mine says the Lord God. Forgive. 70 times 7 = infinate is what is saying. And hold No ill-feelings, or resentments toward others. A real christian is to Love all people, even there enemies and pray for those who persecute you. This applies to every religious person claiming any belief in God, even me. I am not exception.
