Get him a poster of a hobby or something special to him (music groups, cars, sprots, etc.) Or maybe you could get him a gift card to see a movie. Those come in handy when bordome sets in! Good luck.

What does he like to do? We have an X-box, but limit the games that he can have in the house. Even my 18 year old knows that games labeled "mature" are not allowed.

Get him a job...I worked when I was 14. It will teach him to be responsible, and not think that the world owes him something. He wont be begging you for money when he's 25 either.
