Now, I'm not an atheist, but I believe in learning about different people's points of view.

I've heard from religious people that atheists have no real motivation to live ethical lives because they neither hope for heaven nor fear hell.

Nevertheless, many atheists live moral, ethical lives.

So my question is: what's the motivation? Why do some atheists live moral lives?

If they were really atheist and did not believe in God they would not care. Seeing the 10 commandments would not mean anything. Is it because they just want attention?

What years did people think that vampires really were among us? (Not too early, not too late.) This date should have carriages, trained animals, and maybe even a huge sickness or plague, (not the black plague, too early in time), And I need a few catchy yet old names, the names should go with the date.Thank you.

No, this is not for an assignment, but I just want to do some stuff for fun, thanks!

Forget about religion and the god you believe in for a moment. Pretend that god is an intelligent being although not all-knowing. And he created the entire universe which is a really big place. What if this god was only trying to build planets and galaxies etc. and we were a mistake. How would you feel about that?

OK here's the deal:
It will be a year together for my bf and me on November the 27th.
Today I got really frustrated with him, I made a fuss and he was quite sad and called himself selfish and he has been a bit sad since then....Since I dont have much experience in relationships (I have had 2 already but they didnt last long) I am not quite sure whether I am asking too much or not.
When we started dating, it was all happy, making love quite frequently and having kissing sessions etc.
But it has changed through time, and I find myself asking more while he doesnt really follow. For example sometimes I get all tender and kiss him and he gives a quick kiss back and turns his gaze back on the TV. And to day I was in bed relaxing and he came and while my intentions were clear he just told me that I came to bed to relax on the first place...and I just exploded and got so angry. He understood, and he told me it was not his intention to make me fell so bad.

I read a question on here about How much is God a part of your life?

and when I went to answer I realized that I am the created, so am I not part of His life?

We were made to be in fellowship with him, not for our lives to be filled with Him...

Is this a new way of looking at the same thing, or am I just missing it?

anyone else can answer too, I believe that I can learn from everyone.

thanks

I was inspired by the TRUTH.com commercials. I saw two girls smoking cigarettes outside a bar. I know right, in this day and age. So I ran up to them, punched them in the face and spit on them. Then I took their purses and pulled their cigarettes out and jammed all off them down one of their throats. Lastly, I kicked them in the face. Am I a hero for doing this?

In the Wizard of Oz, Dorothy just feels compelled to help a tin man who was frozen with an axe in his hand...and a scarecrow who claims he's not too smart...and a lion who chases them around until she has to smack him...Sorry, but I saw Jeepers Creepers and I don't trust those scarecrows!
It just occured to me that Auntie Em taught her better than that.
She could've had a much darker adventure if someone else had directed the movie. She got lucky didn't she?
Thoughts anybody?

I remember the funny dialogue on the movie "Reservoir Dogs" about tipping. The guy basically said "screw it" to automatic tipping and that if the service people didn't like it then to get an education and a new job. I'm not that crass however, but there are times when I feel that tips aren't warranted due to poor service. Also I notice that many restaurants in the service industry do try to take
adavntage people at business functions, etc by imposing mandatory tips. How do you feel about tipping? Should it be a minimum of say 15% no matter what and climb from there? What about the "idea" that people are making a living solely off tips ????
