In the Wizard of Oz, Dorothy just feels compelled to help a tin man who was frozen with an axe in his hand...and a scarecrow who claims he's not too smart...and a lion who chases them around until she has to smack him...Sorry, but I saw Jeepers Creepers and I don't trust those scarecrows!
It just occured to me that Auntie Em taught her better than that.
She could've had a much darker adventure if someone else had directed the movie. She got lucky didn't she?
Thoughts anybody?

As an afterthought, being that Glenda the good witch could have sent Dorothy back to Kansas at any time she wanted, was she a good witch, really? She also got the Wicked Witch of the West after Dorothy by putting the ruby slippers on her. She seems a little mischievious to me...

I'm watching the timeless classic now. Well, what if your house was blown away in a tornado with you in it and then it landed on a wicked witch who was in the middle of taunting munchkins in munchkinland and you didn't know how to get back to Kansas? I bet you'd talk to a tin man, a lion, a scarecrow, a good witch and a wizard, too. I would. BTW. Is that an oxymoron: timeless classic?

She grew up in an early twentieth century Kansas farming group. They do not need had the identical style of paranoia located in contemporary city America. Glinda did not ship Dorothy again - she taught her easy methods to use the vigor she already had (the ruby slippers) to take herself residence. The factor used to be that Dorothy could not do this till she had found out the reality of "there is not any situation like residence".

uuhhmmmm.... lets go back to that time period.... you were able to talk to strangers and often relied on the help of strangers without concern or worry. not only that but.... if you landed ina the world of Oz and were met by a bunch oh munchkins, your house killed a witch and were being chased by a witch.... you too would relyon the help of strangers :)
