God chooses for all of us to be Christians. HOwever, he can't force us to accept him anymore than we can force our own kids to obey us. People MUST choose to accept God and what he has for us. God KNOWS before you are ever concieved whether you will accept him or not. If EVERYONE in the world would choose Jesus, he woud take us all to Heaven but he knows that not everyone will and it saddens him.

We are chosen by God.

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love

John 6:43 Jesus answered them, "Do not grumble among yourselves. 44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.

Romans 8:29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.

When I came to faith I thought it was a decision that I had made but now that I look back on it I realize that God called me out of this world and into his family. If you feel drawn to God that could be what is happening to you if you are not already a Christian.

God chooses them so they will choose God.
John 6:37, "All that the Father gives me will come to me..."

Two things in this verse. First, it is God the Father who gives us to God the Son. "All the Father gives...

Second, those the Father gives to the Son then choose to follow Christ. "will come to me..."

Also notice it implies God does not give everyone to the Son, otherwise everyone would come to the Son. The fact that most people do not come to the Son means God gives only some. THe rest are allowed to continue in their rebellious rejection of Christ, which is a direction they are not forced to follow but willingly prefer.

It has to be both ways, but the primary fact is that God has chosen us. Its the doctrine of divine election. Its there in many verses as in Ephesians and other verses. Eph 1:4 according as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,

"But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ."—2 Thessalonians 2:13-14.

“It does not, therefore, depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy.”--Romans 9:16

But at the same time a man also has to wilfully accept christ into his heart. “Whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life.”--Revelation 22:17

This is one of the mysteries of salvation. Where in salvation is a choice of both man and God, its a mystery, but when we each heaven we can see that both play an equal role in the salvation.

Christ himself said in John 15:16 "You did not choose me But I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit--fruit that will last." Every true Christian has felt the need to except Christ into their heart. This need is the invitation from Christ, his choosing of you. When excepted Christ begin to live inside that person. The christian results is a day by day comparison and conflict of what Christ would have you do and what the world wants you to do. That is the thing of it. Christ gives you the chose the world dose not.

We were chosen by God from before we were born, it says in the Bible that He knew us and knit us and predestined us.
So I believe we have free choice whether we want Him or not, but He wanted us enough that He let His Son die for us on a cross so that we could be with Him. That is the greatest love and I think He wants all of us, He said that Hell was created for demons, not humans.
I choose God. I am blessed He chose me.

Well my church believes that God has chosen each person for a purpose, but that people have to choose God. He cannot be forced on people. Its like when Jesus called the apostles. God chose them but they could have said no.

John 6:44 "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.
If you can't come unless God draws you than the choice must be God's.
Rom 3:9 What then? Are we better than they? Not at all; for we have already charged that both Jews and Greeks are all under sin; 10 as it is written, "THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE; 11 THERE IS NONE WHO UNDERSTANDS, THERE IS NONE WHO SEEKS FOR GOD;
