If they were really atheist and did not believe in God they would not care. Seeing the 10 commandments would not mean anything. Is it because they just want attention?

atheists spend as much time debunking christianity as christians spend condemning and preaching to atheists. because christians take the initiative upon themselves to spread the word, most arguments are sparked by the believers, and atheists have to defend themselves by expressing their opposing viewpoint.

anybody who has studied the history of religion with an open mind would be outraged by christianity as an institution

Many atheist try to question and undermine Christianity because they believe that religion is not capable of explaining science, and they feel that science explains everything. Basically, atheists think that if science cannot prove it, or even theorize it, then it cannot be. There was a really good debate featured on TIME magazine regarding this conflict.

they are jealous that they have nothing going for them. they believe in nothing at all.......they are a very unhappy small group of humans that think that every one that believes in God is out to get them, they feel threatened just by the fact that there is a God. they argue with foul words when they are pinned down in discussion, they resort to name calling when they have to better answer. truly because of there ignorance, and the verbal vomit that spews from there mouths is what keeps most Christians believing in God, cuz there has to something greater than what these so called human rodents preach

This is a good question. It is probably because they want attention, or they really do believe..which goes back to they want attention. And you're right...if they didn't believe, they wouldn't even bother with Christians. However, for Christians, there are temptations at every level, and this is just another.

As an atheist,I don't.What I despise is having christianity or any other religion forced upon me.I don't need to try to debunk something totally without logic. But if people wish to belive it,good luck to them.Just,PLEASE, keep it to yourself.

You know, I hear so many claim in the same breath to not believe in God and be terribly pissed at Him for x, y and z.

Anyway, its impossible to be mad at God and not believe in Him. I really think that many of them sense a seed of truth and are terrified of it, because it would mean that they would have to change their behavior.
