It funny how many people do know that you are suppose to throw salt over one of their shoulders if they spill some salt. But are void in the knowledge as to why this became so. In ancient times many, many people were dying because of the lack of salt in their diet, And when mankind learned that salt in your diet could extend your life span, Salt became a very highly valuable commodity. And since salt itself was seen as a life giver It almost became a crime or a sin to spill or waste salt. Thus comes the devil made me spill it so lets toss some of this spilled salt back into his face thus gaining forgiveness for a simple accident. And all of this superstition say, is just how powerful processing salt was in its hay day. So now you know why salt became became the savior of life itself and now if you use to much of it it can now kill you just like it did to people who over indulge in the usage of salt in the past............ P.S. There was a time when salt had a greater value then gold then those same people finally regained their senses lol another simple fact is when the poor stated processing salt is what really changed the value of salt to the rich. Can you really believe that people were paid in salt thus making the rich more rich lol.................

i dont have a clue because i am not superstitions. If i was, i would of went to some where other than the tow i am in on 6-6-06. because this town is like that. But it is not hte devils #

Good question ....I throw it over both shoulders with my left habd first and then I alternate with my right hand just to be sure

your left , to bring you luck.and i believe if you throw it over your shoulder when you move in to a new house. it will also bring you good luck.... and i dont believe it works ...lol
