Every individual has a time called a critical age of decision making, specially when we are talking of gender. As a homosexual, i already enjoyed myself being a gay because my peers had accepted me already with the exception of my family who kept restricting me from becoming a gay during my childhood days.... That's the saddest thing in life that when you are happy and contented with who you are, there are others trying to pull you down because they can't accept you for being who you are. I believe that when there is acceptance there is always love in the world but we cant stop them from making it as their point of view. But we can prove to them in some way that we are not a social menace in the society but a big help for development. If you love being a gay, then be proud of it... Don't let others turn you down because you have a unique personality...... Enjoy yourself as a homosexual to the fullest and start doing activities as a gay to develop it more!!!!! Don't hide it but accept that you are a gay.... Feel free because thats the only way to enjoy the world.... Always remember that other people also enjoying their gender, then why not you? Go for it!!!! Accept yourself to the fullest and be proud of it...... Gays are talented and creative and you must be proud that you are one of us because nowadays gays are very known to people all over the world in terms of fashion and design.... Always remember that being a gay is always a plus factor knowing and believing that they are more talented than men and women...... Remember man and woman combine together and that is you!!!!!!

It is a tough phase really. When I was about your age, I went through a lot of self-denial and self-loathing, too, myself. I was an hermit when I was in high school and didn't really have a chance to open myself up even to my friends (even if they knew I was gay). Acknowledge what you feel. If you hate talking about it then don't talk about it. You are not obliged to open yourself up to anybody. Respect what you feel. What you CAN do, too, is focus your energy on highly productive stuff. Join a club. If you write, contribute to your schoolpaper. Explore your other side and discover nice stuff about yourself. Be competitive in class if you can. At least, in that way it would be easy accepting yourself as gay because you know there is so much good in you. You see, being gay is just a part of what we are. It shouldn't control or define everything. Having a peer with similar interests will help, too. Sooner or later, you will learn to be comfortable with yourself. It WILL take some time. Just comfort yourself with the thought that everything will be just fine later on. Good luck!

That's a biggy. Every one has difficulty accepting something about themselves but our society considers sexual orientation an essential issue. I am one of those who believes that it is part of who you are, not an option. Perhaps it would help to start with things you feel good about and build on that for a while. I know there are things because you have friends who accept you. That proves you are acceptable. Is the problem more that the subject is brought up more than you feel it merits? Focuses too much attention on your personal life? Have patience and learn to gently redirect a conversation.

well let me say this i am not a boy nor am i 14-17. but if you are shame about it then maybe you don't need to be doing it. and at that age how or why are you worrying about it. you are very young how do you know that is what you want to do right now. are a lot of people gay around you as to why you feel inclined to be gay? if you don't feel comfortable doing something and don't really know what you are doing then maybe you need to do a self evaluation.

I am 44 and I have been out of the closet since I was 15, to my family. What happened to me was that with my family's dysfunctional behaviour, I became internally homophobic. It took friendship, in the right circles, group settings, and a little bit of counselling. I am not saying you need counselling, however, if you have questions, you can be helped to answer the questions you have for yourself. Internalized homophobia is quite common. It will take time, trust, and love on your behalf to accept yourself. Enjoy who you are now, with your friends, family, and future partners.

With enough time, you'll probably figure it all out on your own, but that's a really annoying answer to any question. It comes down to removing yourself from society for a moment and asking yourself what you believe, and why. If the "why" isn't a good reason, then don't bother with it. ("Because everyone else says so" is the prime example of a bad reason to hold any belief)

You can't really know if you are gay or not yet. You may feel that you are more attracted to one sex than the other. This is not really how it goes in life though because you are only attracted to feelings. You will only love someone truely if they love you the same way. You will only know in time WHO you really like.
